Poweramp doesn't recognize the tags on some of my songs, while both the stock and Mixzing do. The controls are also very small and cluttered compared to those two.
The stock player was OK for me until i realized you can't delete something out of a playlist without deleting the file outright!
Mixzing got two more big pluses - the lock screen widget with swipe/tap control (don't have to aim for buttons when driving!) and it plays my videos seamlessly (improved the playback of a troublesome one, but i'll still probably redo it on the computer and reload it). The only thing i don't like about it is there's no time ticker on the widgets - bar or otherwise - and that looks like it should be easy to put on there.

I use the stock player, but that's an easier decision when my current ROM of choice (Myn's Warm 2.2 RLS5) offers some nice tweaking via DSP Manager. I also use a 3rd-party cover art downloaded for any cover art issues.
I tried Poweramp (and a couple others) but Poweramp major messed up my album art, and others were overly and unnecessarily complicated or busy.
That DSP Manager on Myn's just cause a lot of clipping and distortion for me.
That's odd. It works very well for me. I just made subtle changes to the Equalizer and also enable Virtual Room and it works very well. Distortion only sometimes occurs when volume is at 100% but that is too loud anyway.
The buttons seem to be white with a blue hue, but the rest of the 3X3 widget is transparent w/ exception to the album art and the buttons.
Making the widget background transparent or not is in settings.
Also, while I don't like the blue hue on the widget buttons it's not enough to make me quit the player for another. Ideally, making the hue a custom color will happen sometime

Anybody using PowerAmp that has had problems with the player's repeat for 1 artist? I had my phone connected in my car and was listening to a particular artist, but for whatever reason I couldn't fast forward to the next song or back track to previous songs, while it was on repeat for 1 artist.
Then, this morning, I had it on repeat all songs for 1 artist and it was switching to different artists. weird.
Took the words right out of my mouth. I user the Stock player when I'm driving in my car because of the lock screen controls, I use Music Mod for everything.

I use the cube. The problem I have with the stock music player, Music Mod, and many of the other apps, is thier inability to sync album cover art. Some might not care about the album art, but it gets on my nerves listening to Metallica with Beyonce's album art. The Cube is the only app I have been able to find; that allows you to select and sync album art related to its corrosponding album.
Ive tried pretty much every player in here except for ones I would have to pay for and have always had the same problem with all of them, a few of my favorite albums are live DJ sets with the songs chopped. theres no real breaks anywhere in the music but all of the players leave a split second gap. PowerAMP so far has been the shortest gapwise. Does anyone know of any truly seamless media players?
Ya, poweramp gave me some problems, so mixzing is what I landed on. It has problems, but for the most part I love it. I love the video player with it, the EQ is a nice addition, and the 2x2 app fits perfectly on my lock screen for easy access (I use widget locker). I also use audiogalaxy too though. If the music is on my SD card, then mixzing is definitely better, but audiogalaxy has all my music on it (it takes music from an internet source that collects music from your desktop)
I use the stock HOWEVER...I'm not too happy with it. If you want to know why, you can find my thread about it or read below.
I am upset because mainly how it is kind of not friendly in the view of...I'll be searching through music, find an artist say "Mudvayne", click it, listen to it, go back to the Artists' page and be all the way at the top with the numbers and A's whereas being in the M's where I left off.
I have alot of music and am a music fan so my 16GB SD Card is about full of music...I've only got about 572MB left lol...
I use the stock player that comes with Koni's Elite II ROM.... Its amazing. I've been searching my whole music-listening-life to find some of the features it has. The closest I've come before was Mixzing, but this is much much more refined. When my creative Zen died, I thought I lost mp3 player perfection until I found this It has a few small tweaks that could be made, but for the most part i love it. DSP manager works wonders for me, too. Dont set anything out of the -3/3 range, and you shouldnt get any clicking unless your volume is maxed out
I've been using tunewiki but I'm looking for a similar music player that can automatically get the lyrics like tunewiki. I've tried a lot of the ones mentioned in this thread so far, but none of them are showing the lyrics and I love having the lyrics! The downside of tunewiki is that it doesn't have lyrics to all the songs, just some, and its missing a lot of the album art. I also cannot find a repeat button which would be nice to have. Any suggestions?
I have tested a few of these, but my ipod is so much easier to use. Are any of you having running out of power when you use your phone for more than a phone and a browser?
I am running ACS Frozen 1.1.0 on my EPIC and with PowerAmp i am not having any battery issues. I am also running on WiFi at work all day so that helps with battery life as well.

Nope, not experiencing the problem you speak of. Your problem is occurring because you are allowing apps to send/receive data in the background as you are doing something else like listening to music. Also, your power drainage depends on what data source you are using. If you are listening to music and using 3G or 4G to surf then your battery will drain faster than using wifi for data.

Stock player with Koni's Elite ROM gives you lyrics
I've used and/or purchased every music player for EVO. Finally this morning I downloaded the 'free' poweramp plug-in. Then I listened to the same song on each one. Poweramp blew them all away!! Adjusted the volume for headset and set it for rock, AMAZING! Save your money and try Poweramp first (don't forgets to add free enhanced plug-in)!! UNBELIEVABLE app!! Feel foolish I spent so much money for the 'best', when the best was one of the first I downloaded!

Yeah my iPod is giving me trouble (again) so I'm considering just using my Evo and PowerAMP, plus AudioGalaxy when there is something not on my Evo (I have 170GB of music).
Out of curiosity, am I ******ed or did anyone else notice there is no repeat 1 on Winamp? I have 2 hour mixes by DJs that I listen to at work and when it comes to the end I would like it to automatically loop but instead it just turns off. Am I ******ed and missing something or is this a error on Winamps part?
