Google Music app is available now in the market for free. It's really good looking! I don't think it has an eq yet, but it works with last.fm scrobbling, so I'll be using it.
I tried several of the free ones but noticed that they wouldn't keep album songs in their correct sequential order. Doubletwist was close, and I liked the controls on the lock screen, but I'm sticking with the new Google Music app for now. It still needs some work but it's the only player that keeps 100% of my music in the correct order.

Took Mixzing off and using the Google Music app. I wish they would've integrated it w/the stock android player

I tried google music for a while, just seemed to plain. Not enough features so I'll come back to it in a while. For now I'm liking Zimly, great interface, shows lyrics and allows me to tweet my tracks. Its a keeper for now.

I do like tweeting and fbing a track now and then. Hopefully Google will get on that.

Agreed, hopefully along with posting tracks to our social networks, Gmusic allows us to rate our tracks and keep track of how many times a specific app was played. Missed that from my iPod nano days...

I read something that said it has a thumbs up and thumbs down sort of rating system, but don't quote me on that.
I just got Fedrico (sp?) (Launcher Pro creator)'s Window's Phone 7/Zune themed music player and it's really cool looking! If he puts some features on it I could definitely see myself using this a bit. It's very good looking.
I'd still say PowerAmp is better because of the crapload of settings and EQ, but W7MP does look nice. Gimme some Widgets and an EQ and I'd pay money for it.
I tried to find it in the Market, but couldn't seem to find it. Did Fede make it available through the market already or is it something that's available on the Launcher Pro website?
I wanted to compare it to Power Amp.

Alright, was using a free flac player becasue I was, well, being cheap I guess. Anyways, stepped up and purchased poweramp. First time I tried it I was not impressed, but he has added much since then. Plus, there will be a 2.0 update this summer, hopefully. It plays flac, has eq (dont know you need one til u get one,) custom and search for album art, and many must have and nifty features, plus more to come. Worth 5 bucks for sure.
I am using Mixing for quite awhile now and love the upgrade for Gingerbread also using Winamp, I been using that forever on my PC's so why not my phone, it works great too..
Amazon Cloud player. It's free. It's where I buy all my music from. It's where I spent the last weekend uploading 16GB worth of music. And I was totally surprised to find out it has lock screen and EQ settings.
I use Ubermusic by federico carnales. The same guy that created LauncherPro. I love it!!! it has customizable themes & the widgets are pretty sweet. It has a lot of setting options as well. you can get rid of the notification bar while listening to the music and choose to have certain tabs visible.
My original answer was the "stock app" that comes with the phone. Since then I have changed to doubleTwist.
It is much better although I want:
-built in lyrics like the iOS devices have
-actually read track numbers
-improved program for computer
It is a genius alternative to the iOS products! The program for computer even looks like iTunes and connects just like it. It is brilliant!
I really don't like the fact that it can't read track names though...most of my albums' tracks are very mixed and without shuffle. Track 1 will be down by Track 13, Track 4 by Track 7, and so on and so forth. I keep my library very very neat and organized so I know, for sure, it is a problem with doubleTwist.
Built in lyrics would be nice like one the iPod Touch and iPhone but we have apps to suffice that so it's not a big deal.
The program that can be used on the computer is genius. It has a great start but still needs some bugs worked out and needs to have more features. The fact that it can access the actual App Market is a great feature as well as converting videos/music/etc. to your phone's specific need as well as it telling you all types of information about your phone just like iTunes. I just wish the converts would be a little better. It converted them alright but when I tried to play them, the audio was way off of the video.
Overall, I like doubleTwist and especially by comparison to the stock Gingerbread and 2.1 app and Google Music. I miss 2.2's stock music app...that one was nice.
I've looked at a bunch of the players mentioned in this thread and I didn't like any of them. I listen to mostly podcasts and I need a ff and rw to search with precision. Me player app has it. If anyone has a better one with the required features please let me know.
Thanks
I downloaded music junk (LOVE IT) but want a better player to use since the stock one doesn't have repeat, etc.
Downloaded audiogalaxy, which I think would be awesome, BUT I can't figure out how to get the songs I downloaded from music junk on there since it's more of a transfer songs from your computer kind of app.
Anyone got a suggestion for how to fix this OR for another music player I could use with music junk???
I'm currently using mSpot Music Player and it works for me... I can use the Voice search to play music... It shows lyrics and cover art... It has some other neat features... the best one is the streaming of my music from my computer...
Been using MixZing premium since it came out, I'm sure there are better media players out there, but MixZing is already doing what I wanted in a media player so haven't explored other options.
