Ok I am not actually sure if this is possible but here it goes. My girlsfriends mom has an epic my girlfriend has an evo. My girlfriend wants her evo to look like the epic's os. From what I can tell the epic is only running 2.1 while evo is running 2.2. Is there a way to flash os design of the epic to the evo, or is this not possible?
Hello and welcome to the Android Forums, pntblltrc4.
After reading your query, I decided to move it to the Evo section, an area with a lot of users of that device who've modifed them and can likely give you some advice one way or the other.
If you're talking about the overlay, then probably not. The Epic comes with Samsung's overlay called TouchWiz. The Evo has HTC's Sense. Both overlays were written for their respective hardware. I have an EVO and my wife has an Epic. Personally, I prefer Sense, but probably just because I've been using it for a month.
By the way, the Epic should be upgraded to 2.2 sometime in the not too distant future (hopefully), but in this case the OS is not really what you're asking about.

I want to break this down a little more simply so it's easy to understand, and possibly easier to explain to the lady friend.
Think of the phones, Evo or Epic as a bed frame. Then think of the OS as the Mattress, and the sheets, pillows, comforters as the Manufacturer's "polish" to the OS.
Where the Bed frame is the device hardware... memory, battery, cpu, gpu, display... blah blah.
where the mattress is the OS: for Epic and Evo they both OPERATE on the Google Android Operating System. Epic is on version 2.1 and Evo is recently updated to the newer version 2.2. Both still stunningly similar, with a few added perks and changes from 2.1 to 2.2.
Now, the sheets, pillows and crap... So each manufacturer may or may not choose to take the Android OS and write their own software to lay on top of it. The software may or may not change anything about the actual OS, but it more or less presents it in a different way. The touch, feel and look to what is on your actual screen as you browse through the device.
To my knowledge, there is no way to take Samsung's proprietary overlay (TouchWIZ) and apply it to an HTC device.

Oops I crapped my pants... Damn Evo
Thank you!! I just tried Baked Snack 1.7 and finally I have a reason to return the Epic. Finally Gameloft games runs smooth. I know sorry off topic but just wanted to say thanks.
I'm using the kingx kernel or whatever it is... the gameloft games run fine on my phone now. I know it'll never be as good as the humming bird CPU, but it's damn close!

I was gonna try just the kernel too but I couldn't find kernel build 6 by itself so I just did the whole 1.7 which has it built in. And yes very damn close to epic and I'm not overclocked. I found setcpu sometimes makes games more choppy.

You must not pay attention much because I say plenty of good things about the evo (which I still own). And I've pointed out differences in Sense and TouchWiz that go beyond the launcher because so many get wrapped up in the launchers and foget other ways both skins add to vanilla android. So try reading up on some of my other posts before another wasted post. Those two items happen to be very useful additions to stock android that aren't available with sense. Sense also brings more to the table with more polished email, polling options and better folder support along with better sms along and just an overall cleaner GUI.

I don't know anything about making Evo look like the Epic (personally soon as I get the epic, I'll be getting Launcher Pro and going wild with it) but I would suggest going through the Stickied thread Let up Peek at your Screens and then once you've spent some time in there, Show your girl things like This and once she gets an idea of what she can really do with the Evo, I'm pretty sure she'll forget all about making it look like Touchwiz.
If you're not going to read all the pages of that Thread (you really should, it goes by quickly), check out the 1st 5 pages to learn the basics and then start reading from page 40 or so, so that you learn what you need to learn.
Main things I would suggest would be
Launcher Pro
Beautiful Widgets
Desktop Visualizer
SwitchPro (?)
Widget Locker
These should be enough to get you on the right track IMO.

I have a hybrid evo/epic you could say, I've rooted my evo with cm6 and have the epic theme with it's app drawer and icon set. Icons are really nice in my opinion.

Touchwiz
Okay this might sound strange, but my wife has a Epic 4g and I have a Evo and was wondering if its possible to get a TouchWiz theme on the EVO or the icons?
When Sprint announced their first ever 4G handset at CTIA in March 2010, they dropped a bombshell on the mobile world. The HTC Evo 4G is a device that introduces a lot of firsts when compared to other North American handsets. This is the first Andr... Read More
