of course i just bought mine at the sprint store (sero premium) for $200 a week ago cause I didn't see any deals that were worthwhile! wirefly was only $10 cheaper and I had to wait for the mail anyways. Can I return and rebuy from amazon? it seems like sprint told me that if i returned the phone i was still in contract (???)....

I don't know who told you that, I work for Sprint and can confirm once you return it, make sure you tell them you want to completely cancel the service and it will all be fine.

cool. do you know if i can do an upgrade through amazon being a sero premium? do they just have to make sure that i appear eligible for an upgrade?
I've been trying to order the Evo with a discount from the website StudentRate but the Evo is sold out online on the Sprint site. So I finally called StudentRate and asked what else I could do to get the 15% discount off my Sprint bill. They gave me this amazon link.. AMAZON DEAL .. and said I could order the Evo from Amazon, then tell them my order # and I would get the % off my bill.
I haven't ordered yet but it sounds like a good deal. Is ordering on Amazon the same process as ordering from the Sprint site?
Are they giving 15 or 23% ? Let me know if you end up doing it because if I can go in and order my phone from Amazon myself then they apply the discount I think i ll go for it
I thought it was 15% but after looking at other forums everyone says it's 23%
That would make the phone $143 which is prey decent. I'm debating whether to take my $200 in contract phone back and buy one off eBay and not resigning a contract but I am not sure whether its worth it to wait or resign....
So you order the phone from Amazon using this link then what? Do you just like email them your info to prove you bought it with the link and they apply the discount?

As far as this deal goes it's sounds real good. I just checked out the Amazon link, the Evos are cheaper on Amazon than the Sprint site so I'd say go for it. If I were to order from that link today do you know who I give my order # to, to ensure I receive the 23% discount?
It says on the deal that you must use the link provided and then email support@studentrate.com your order #.

Good question. I'm certain the sero premium is some kind of employee plan, if that is the case then I don't think so. I think Sprint Corporate could only do that. But don't quote me on this.
I got my GF an Evo when we ported her number from T-Mo on Memorial Day for 50 bucks. It wasnt a sale but after talking to the regional manager he said he'd do 50 because they didn't have any Epics for free in stock. Her getting the Evo was better than the Epic even if it cost 50 bucks.
Got mine mint condition off ebay (off contract as well) for $250.
If you dont mind used, they go for like $250-300 on Craigslist/ebay all day, which is close to what yiou'll pay new + 2 years contract as well.
yeah i bought mine on craigslist used with 1 lil blemish on the bottom left corner... cant hardly tell. but i can cuz i look at it alot lol but i paid 300 used so 250 i feel is a fair price as long as your not getting scammed...
Went to Best Buy last week to get my wife an Evo 4G. She was set for her full discount from Sprint as here contract was up and I saw the Evo in the Sunday Ad for $99.00. Went in and saw that they had white which she preferred. Took the Rep some time to get everything setup and then she hosed the Blackberry when she was trying to transfer data. She ended up charging us $1.00 which is/was the cost of the Evo if you signed up for a Family Plan. When we got home and I setup here email, her Exchange Server Outlook system had all her contacts already saved so they transferred right into the Evo. She really only lost her previous text messages!
I've seen some "Mint" condition EVO 4G's around here for $180-200. I saw a couple in "used" condition for 150-165 but they did have some visible wear. If you can find one in exceptional condition for 175 or so, why not go that route? No 2-year contract... Sell it for a little less than you paid for it in 6 months and get something new...
Just bought my White Evo from Best Buy for $1. I switched from Verizon. Hard to beat the unlimited everything for $69 when big red is about to roll out tiered data.

I jumped from VZW (after 10 years) this week myself. Dumped my beloved Droid X and got my new beloved Evo 4G. Got the Evo for free. Did the Gingerbread update then did factory reset and it's doing fine. Monthly cost is going to be a lot better with Sprint.
Radio Shack has the EVO for free on new or 2 year upgrades. Most retails with price matching options should be able to honor that deal. Got mine from Best Buy for $1 (they refuse to give it for free...go figure).
When Sprint announced their first ever 4G handset at CTIA in March 2010, they dropped a bombshell on the mobile world. The HTC Evo 4G is a device that introduces a lot of firsts when compared to other North American handsets. This is the first Andr... Read More
