It's a shame THIS wasn't the GB update they put out months ago. It really seems to have fixed most of my issues, that were not uncommon.
I quit hunting for another phone if that says anything.

Same here.

Though I was wrong to say that the sense reboot has been completely eradicated - IT HAS NOT. It stills comes up - just not as often as when 2.3.3/4 was around. SOLUTION for this: UNMOUNT & REMOUNT THE SDCARD has eradicated the sense reboot 99%.

As for a new alternative phone, there hasn't been a big forward step from the EVO4G to other current phones. Therefore, the EVO is staying with me too.

HTC reported this as a known issue...I thought I was the only one in the world with this problem. Fix is in the works (supposedly) and will be pushed at some point...no ETA provided.

But, NOW, my calendar (and only the Calendar on the Exchange account) is syncing over and over and over. You see the Sync icon on the toolbar flash on, then off. You go into Settings and Accounts and you can see Calendar constantly updating.

Guess I'll be calling Sprint later. :-(
Somebody having the same issues I'm having. I phoned Sprint and they only advised visiting a Sprint store...an hour's round trip drive for me (not to mention the customer service hassle/wait time). If you got to any resolution, please post. Thx!

Have you tried removing the account, and then re-adding it? I read somewhere else that fixed it for someone having the same problem.

Cust svc advised that I uncheck the auto-sync function under the accounts & sync setting. Will advise if that fixes the superdrain...I could care less about g-mail/facebook/news/qik/stocks/weather always being on. When I want to see any of that stuff, I click on the app anyway.

Thanks for the tip-that's my next step if this doesn't solve the problem (by not allowing my mail to active sync).

Unchecking auto-sync disabled notifications when I rec'd mail. I re-checked this box, but unchecked the facebook/news/qik/stocks/gmail button, and things are working almost like they used to!

Visited Sprint store last night...although I'm eligible to upgrade, still no desire-Evo 4G still running too good. 2 years later now, simply just an amazing device and it's impressive how good it really is: I'm ready and able to upgrade and no phone carrier can give me an incentive to do so. Just don't see any value/significant incremental benefit worth doing so.

Curious what others think about upgrading from Evo 4G now.

Look into an app called GreenPower Premium even though the dev makes the free version almost the same & good as the paid!

This manages your battery & also allows both your sync boxes to still be on & allowing scheduled email checking with out losing any battery or performance.

& if you use GMAIL, it definitely allows the push mail anytime your connection is on - so youo won't be too far behind (on your schedule).

Like I said in the other thread - every thing out right now is just a small tweak on the EVO4G's original riff.
