i'm sorry but i am not going to believe anything on there, they have like every band known to man on there, and 2.1 is NOT flan for android OS, it is still eclair.

the rest of that info is nice, especially the 512/1g but if they mess up on something stupid like 2.1 being flan and using just normal email's for preorder, i realllllly don't think illl be trusting that

and what the hell is CANADA gonna do with a CDMA/WiMax phone?!??!?!

Yeah it seemed pretty bogus to me also. Someone over on the Sprint forum asked for a picture and they sent a pic of the black desire (test version). Plus, the person selling it was in China.

As far as I know, Android 2.1 is Flan. Here's another link showing the Supersonic specs and a release date of June: PDAdb.net

Does anyone have an idea on how Apple's patent lawsuit will affect the release of any of these HTC phones?

I know, I believe you're talking about the thread in the android lounge, but I'm mainly interested in how the lawsuit might affect the June release of the Supersonic and I don't know that that has been answered over there. What is your opinion?

My opinion is that this lawsuit is about money. HTC is really not the one being attacked, it is Android. Since HTC is a small company and one of the first to implement android to their devices, that is why Apple is going after them. If they continue to pursue this lawsuit Google for sure will step in. So, in the short term outlook, HTC will still produce phones and eventually this will be between Apple and Google. It will be ended by a lump sum of money. No delay in any of the HTC products. (this is only my opinion).

That was released by a viral marketing team directly from Sprint HQ. Good teaser but we need more!

Sorry, Covert, you're right. At least about part of it. I was certain 2.1 was Flan, but it isn't and Flan won't be the next version either. It's going to be Froyo (Frozen Yogurt). Funny, I liked the name Flan better.

It'll make them better, faster, and with more multi-touch functions, just to piss them off.

I agree. I'm thinking either a case or designing my own back cover using this:

ZAGG | ZAGGskins | Cases, Screen Protectors, Covers, Shields, Skins, Invisible Shield

Imagine the possibilities!

after thinking about it, if I get this phone I think it will be the first time I use one of the invisheilds or whatever, I'm kind of tired of silicone, hard cases etc.

I'd just get a thin leather slip-pouch to drop it into my pocket when not in use. (Still trying to find one for the Moment)

ill just use the shield, it the back is removable then it'll be easily replaced and dropping shouldn't be too big an issue, hell i've never broken a phone i've owned... unintentionally that is...

Do none of you wear belts? I have a leather holster that goes on my belt and never dropped a phone since I have had one.

I wear a belt but I think he holsters are annoying. Tried many times but I felt too dorky wearing one and they were uncomfortable when sitting unless it was just in the right spot. I get that this is a very personal opinion but to me, phone holsters are up there with pocket protectors in terms of nerdiness. Obviously these things are subjective so if in your opinion and in the circles you live in these aren't a big deal then by all means go for it. I just know that aesthetically and comfort-wise I don't like them.

I'm fine with a thin hard or silicone case and a screen protector in the front. I almost want something I can take off easily when I won't be needing it just because these things are so slick looking.

I'm not knocking anyone on their decision to use cases, holsters, etc. To each his own. I just happen to like the zagg skins for the simple fact that it protects and I can customize the way it looks. But I guess I'll have to wait to see how it feels before making a decision. I might consider a hard or silicone case as well but I love the feel of it being "naked" and yet protected at the same time

I do like the idea of a clear protector but I am paranoid about having a phone with a large glass screen and no shock absorption. I've seen enough cracked iPhones. Then again I never broke any of my old HTCs and I have insurance so I may just risk it.

man you guys are funny. I love it when the forums are this light hearted and people not bashing each other. Anyways - I totally agree on the shattered screen..that was a good point @Neodorian. I hated seeing my friends' cracked iPhone screens. And with a screen as large as the SS - it would be horrible to see it cracked the same way. I mean yeah they could use this glass to make it:

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/07/science/07glass.html

but that would just make the phone a little bit fatter LOL

With Sprint you pay $7/month and then if you break your phone it's $100 to have a new one sent out. They are very fast about getting them out but it sucks to pay $100. Still...better than $600 for a new phone.

I think insurance is a good idea with the supersonic.

As for holsters, or hard rigid clear cases, I think I'll go for the case and screen protector route. But I'll just wait and see, how annoying the size of the phone is with a holster.
