oh my bad man .. I wasnt around during that time i dont think . i joined a few days ago . but if you see the commercial provided on the link i posted it would be cool if they had the evo doing all them things or showing what it can do . the lady was for sure an attraction so it would of pulled the males in and making the females think maybe i can be stylish like that if i have that phone or technology (evo) the littlest things stand out to people in commercials making them think they will be that way or get that attention by doing such .

What a minute. You mean that rumor a while back that Sprint was joining Walmart to use their stores to set up a WiMax everywhere is true? If so, then there is no way Verizon and AT&T would catch up.
Yeah I remember the rumors of a Sprint/Walmart partnership surfacing a while back but haven't heard any further developments so I thought it was dead in the water...would be interested to know if Jackson has any info about it that we may not know.

just out of curiosity and without reading through 88 pages for the answer. When you shoot a video it automatically records in 720p i assume so when you go to video message someone will it automatically resize it or do you have to make some sort of changes?
Like most phone cameras, it probably is very easy to change the resolution settings. Taking 720p will eat up your storage pretty quick.
Were you thinking of sending smaller video so your/their phone will display it? Like 480 x 800 on the EVO? 720p HD cameras shoot footage at 1280 x 720, obviously. The EVO will probably have a 480 x 800 resolution setting.
AT&T only accepts video messages of 100kb or less. Verizon sends 200kb. I don't see anywhere a limit on Sprint's video messaging, but I've seen a lot of people saying they get an error "message file too big" or something like that. Sprint's limit is probably the same as Verizon's.
i saw the hesse commercial too. and to think they could be showing off the evo...

Galaxy to me looks like the Instinct. So, I won't bother getting it. Plus in that video it seems to lag a lot! Nope I will be sticking to the EVO.
Does anyone know if the HD2 also utilizes the same Amtel chip as the Evo and Incredible? I would think so... But if not, hey that's one more thing we've got!
I found the second video to be quite interesting showing the multi-touch on the Incredible vs the Nexus One and according to the article the EVO will use the same multi-touch technology.
This is awesome, I'm glad the Evo is using this as well.

Thanks. I hadn't seen that before, but seems like night and day with the multi-touch on the Incredible vs. the N1.

I made a comment many posts ago....if Sprint and Walmart actually do this....i think it is the start of Skynet being built lol.
but in all honesty, if this ends up true...Sprint is going to be way ahead of the game in the 4G network.

Would be nice if it were true but that's been a rumor before and it wasn't for 4G the first time it came up. I would love it to happen though, I have 2 walmarts within 5 miles of me so hopefully I'd have decent 4G coverage. I don't have a lot of faith that this rumor is true though.
Lying would be intentionally not telling the truth...chances are those guys don't know the truth and just said what they thought sounded good/they were speculating.
I work for Best Buy and we have been keeping up with info on the Evo and we have yet to be told when we will presale the phone.

that would cost i know but it would be so , so helpful for sprint to do so . walmart is the spot for some people when and that would cover so many people alone . walmarts are everywhere . even if it's not walmart i hope they use some type of local shopping center or something widely know and common to people . i have faith in sprint that it will do good but i know carriers are quick to pick up on things sprint or any other carrier slacks on . but we don't know the future so they may have something good stored for sprint customers .

Hey, we’ve extended the date of the event to allow you more time to sign up for the latest EVO news on when it’s hitting stores. Or you can scan the EVO code on our photos page and you’re instantly taken to the signup page on your mobile phone. Only from Sprint. The Now Network. ™
I saw this on my facebook page from sprint. Thought I would share.
just thought of something to keep us all occupied for the night lol. what wallpaper will you guys and girls be using?
ill pobably use this:
but if i can resize this i will use it:
me playing paintball
Dude!! I think I saw a post you made on Sprints facebook wall. I thought you were wearing a dirt bike helmet, but it was a paintball helmet. lol
Unfortunately those articles were posted back in January, and I haven't seen anything since then confirming that walmart and sprint are making this deal happen. Also I haven't read a time frame as to when this would be happening.
It would be great though for anybody who is on the fence about getting this phone, has no 4g coverage, but is close by to a Walmart... It would probably be the nail in the coffin so to speak about getting this phone.
If someone has more info on this that can share it, that would be great. I too have a Walmart right up the street

Please tell me I read that correctly.

I wouldn't get too excited about Wal-Mart getting involved, at least not yet. The last time I saw any rumors about it was back in January. I've been watching carefully for that story to materialize, but there's been nothing since. That doesn't mean it won't happen. If you think about it, some of the major cable companies, including Comcast, Bright House Networks and Time Warner are partners in the WiMAX initiative, but none of them have started their build-out either. At least not that I know of. It wouldn't surprise me, though to see all or some of these companies getting involved very soon. When they do, all of us have a good chance of having 4G, including a lot of rural areas that are still stuck with dial-up.

Comcast as we all know is partnered with Clearwire and is now offering "High Speed To-Go'' service as an add on to your existing high speed internet account. They are already in a few markets and will be launching the Greater Boston and NYC areas soon. I can't wait until the Hartford, CT area is ready for 4G. Not only for the EVO but for the High Speed To-Go as well. Employee perks.

I know Time Warner Cable is in partnership with Clear, and has begun launching 4G USB's on the Clear network. I've used one, and it actually works quite well.
okay now that i'm looking over it again i'm not sure if it's real... for one, the evo pictured has a red grill which is not supposed to be in the final version. i guess we'll see if any other sites are reporting the same invite.

Haha, it's really silly, why would they pair up with Disney to show off the EVO and Prince Of Persia early? Seems very fishy.
Unless Dan Hesse thinks Jake Gyllenhaal's ripping biceps will draw attention from the Iphone and the EVO.
I can see Dan now: "Just like the blockbuster hit of the Summer, Prince Of Persia, our competitors will surely wish they could use the sands of time to rewind time, as our HTC EVO will demolish the competition."
I wonder if either of those could the phone rumored to be coming to Sprint. Either way, they both look very unimpressive just from first impressions though.
If you remember from CTIA, Sprint was showing off the EVO's 720p HDMl ability by streaming a trailer for Prince of Persia out to a large HD flatscreen. Perhaps this cooperation between Disney & Sprint has been planned all along? I wonder also if there might be some kind of media bundling, like T-Mobile has done with the HD2 and Transformers.

I was just thinking that The Sprint facebook page might have something to do with the android update to the moment and hero. rumored to be the 16th and now is may 12th. I hope that is not it because I am hungry for the EVO. Or a double event would be nice.
Or a double android update event, the EVO to 2.5, and the others to 2.1.
Every person that received an invitation to that EVO 4g event should be very afraid. I can only speak for myself, but I would bet that many people here are freaking crazy enough about this device that they would beat up and rob someone we knew was holding a "golden ticket" that could get us into the same room with Hesse and a have a chance to play with the EVO before it's released. I don't care at all about prince of persia, I would just ignore the screening and play with the phone for the whole two hours, or sit next to Hesse asking every question I could think of and offering my advise for how sprint should be run while he's trying to focus on jake gyllenhall. For me, that invitation is the equivalent of what a huge crack rock is to Tyrone Biggums.

Maybe it is just because it is really late, but I keep picturing Tyrone sitting next to Dan Hesse in a movie theatre asking him all kinds of silly questions and calling him Joe Rogan.
"Hey Joe Rogan, I got this invitation, is this the 5 o'clock free crack giveaway? I'm trying to get some crack rocks."
"Hey Joe Rogan, how does wifi work?"
And then he would slowly, secretly steal Dan's Evo 4G and sell it for crack.
The end.
