Confused Will the 4G signal be spotty like 3G?

It may be a dumb question, but I was hoping that the newer 4G WiMax technology would have a much larger range then 3G technology.

I'm in Austin, and the Clear coverage map shows all of the Austin metro area covered with absolutely no gaps anywhere. Is it possible that this is actually the case, or should I expect plenty of areas lacking 4G coverage?

Specifically, my neighborhood is known to have terrible 3G coverage on Sprint and T-Mobile, and I'm hoping that this won't be the case for Sprint's 4G...

I'm in Vegas, so we're supposed to have full 4g coverage as well. I know a few people on Clear which utilizes the same Wi-Max signal as Sprint does and of course there is small gaps in some areas.

Right now, Clear / Sprints Wi-Max are using the 2.5–2.6 GHz spectrum, so it's higher than all of the 3G spectrum's utilized in the US; which really doesn't mean a whole lot but...lower bands are better.
