Oh, yeah, it is a system update that should address the SD card issue.

The update may also makes it harder for you to root your phone. More than likely it will not make it any harder.

If you want root hold off on the update for a couple of days. Your phone won't implode or anything. If you don't carr about rout they by all means proceed.

I thought so..
Just more worthless, baseless, internet rumor/gossip/nonsense that someone posted on their blog, and everyone in the world assumed was true!

did you put froyo on your evo?
How is it?

thanks!

for some reason, I have had problems with a 16gb Kodak card; it would only show 300 meg available, no mater how many times I formatted it..
the 8gb sandisk shows the full amount, but, for some reason, the kodak only shows 300mb..
On my incredible, it showed the full 16 gb, but for some reason, on the EVO it doesnt..
any suggestions, or just send it to ebay?
thanks

Well, I would if I still had the incredibles, but they are long gone..went back due to horrible phone call quality

When I put the cards in my computer, they show the entire 16gb, but, in the EVO, they only show 300mb...very weird

start/run/diskmgmt.msc should allow you to specify formating and partitoning on windows systems.

OK I have to set the record straight! REGARDING THE EVO UPDATE!

in the past week I rooted my phone and installed the different supersonic rom without any success, but it didnt kill my phone , but i couldnt share wifi either.
I decided to download the stock rom that was on the phone originally and restore it to its original state....with SD issues - It was fine apart from that. For a week i used easy tether which worked great but i wanted the router enabled.

This is is the exact process i used to succeed!

I downloaded the update 1.32.651.6 without any problems, i then downloaded dolphinHD browser...which kicks ass BTW. then Unrevoked using DolphinHD. Then i downloaded wifi_tether_2.0.2 again with dolphin installed them.....rebooted the phone set up my SSID and password in the wifi settings and ran unrevoked and then wifi tether and VOILA! stable internet and ethernet. I can wirelessly print from my laptop, browse the internet and the phone runs better than it did before ...no SD card problems........so far

I hope this helps, Also 2 sprint technicians told me to disconnect the phone from a computer using the USB disconnection routine as you would with a flash drive that wasnt optimized for quick removal to avoid any chance of corrupting your sd card.

Agreed - and if you went with the rooted/stock Supersonic rom, at xxx.1, then this xxx.6 OTA won't install anyway - didn't for me and at least one other guy, FWIW.

The equivalent rooted update is here: [ROM] OTA Update 1.32.651.6 | Update.zip Format - xda-developers

Hmmm...I guess I got this update without even being asked if I want it or not.
I've checked and checked manually since getting this EVO and everytime I do, it says your system is up to date.
