All you have to do is grab that file I stated from the ROM, and move it to the system/lib directory of your phone once rooted. Those extra changes(media_profiles.xml, build.prop) I made to other files are not needed. LGcam doesn't use them because you can set them in the app. LGcam just looks for the aac encoder shared library when you select aac audio within it's settings.

Ok sounds good. I was thinking of going with the cynogenmod 7 which just got realesed with the supportin code for the mouse pointer. If I were to root than make the change to the code like you said would that change when I switch to the Cynogen rom or would not even bother because it I think already supports that ability. Thanks again. The only reason I wanted change and root is because today there is a guy that goes by the name Lokifish on Androidcentral that just realesed the guide to turing your Evo into a desktop and using it like a comp just like the atrix. Here is the link http://forum.androidcentral.com/htc-evo-4g-rooting-roms-hacks/77612-use-your-evo-desktop-pc-now-cm7-goodness.html

Ok I just rooted today about 2 hours ago. I want to do what you did but I havent even loaded a Rom or Kernal yet. So if you can send me step by step directions on how I can drop in the files you found out that would great. Iam guessing I have to have the Evo connected to the computer with the USB cable. I would appericiate that allot bro. Sorry about the noob question just never messed with any of these field before since I had not yet rooted. I really want AAC sound thanks again.
I love taking pictures with my Evo. I know my P&S is better in almost every way, but it can't beat my phone's ease and accessibility. Here are a couple from a daytrip to NYC last weekend with my girlfriend.
Anybody who has CM7 can let me know your opinions on weather you think the picture quality is different. Some reason I think the stock Rom did take better quality photos. iam still not 120 percent sure but when I look back at picture from the stock Rom they look amazing and when I look at pics after CM7 they look great but for some reason dont look as the same quality as the stock. But I could be wrong on this it is very difficult to compare. And one more great feature I would love to have back from stock is the touch to focus point. That is something I very much missed because you could focus on specific things and have the back ground unfocused which is always great for taking different types of pictures.
For Example this was with CM7
And this was with stock
The the other question/comment suggestion I had was about the Camera for some reason I think the stock Rom did take better quality photos. iam still not 120 percent sure but when I look back at picture from the stock Rom they look amazing and when I look at pics after CM7 they look great but for some reason dont look as the same quality as the stock. This is my aunt who raised me. She was diagnosed with lung cancer in October. I lost her Monday. We were in hospital for 2 months, it was the hardest thing either of us has been thru. Now the hard part is over for her. Her name was Karla Sue Meador and this single picture and my words could never explain how great she was.
Hey, I'm new(ish) to the forums and trying to get better at taking pics with my EVO! I find the camera does great outdoors, but still working on the best settings for indoor and low light situations (which always seem to turn out grainy for me).
Taken with stock camera and various settings.

When Sprint announced their first ever 4G handset at CTIA in March 2010, they dropped a bombshell on the mobile world. The HTC Evo 4G is a device that introduces a lot of firsts when compared to other North American handsets. This is the first Andr... Read More
