OK, here's how I did it.

1) I found the launcher dock background (the circle with the android and the two-tone bar) through the Launcher Pro forum on custom docks and the link to Ardchoille's artwork at his website (Ian's Place | Artwork / Artwork).

2) I opened the .png file in Photoshop and added text on top of the dock for each of the other links. I used Agency FB font (native font), bold, all caps, 60 pt for the first letter and 48 pt for the others. Then I changed the text color to match the lightest green color in the android.

3) Added a drop shadow and a slightly darker green stroke (the outline of the words). Saved the file as a .png and uploaded it to my EVO.

4) In Photoshop, I also made a transparent icon (72 x 72 px) with nothing in it and saved that to my EVO icon file.

5) Then I used Launcher Pro to install the dock with the text and added funtionality with a transparent icon over each of the five spots.

Overall, it's kinda a cool concept (not mine originally) and I don't mind the fixed text because these are the five options that I use all the time anyway. I might go back and shrink the font sizes down just a bit. Also, I'm not super crazy about all that green and might play around with other colors.

How the heck do you guys get wallpaper to fit so nicely...That green box I cant figure out for the life of me. It either blows up the image or not show enough...I dont get it.

sorry would it make a difference if I just use launcher pro instead of launcher pro PLUS? Can I get the same effect? Sorry. And I PMed you. Did you get it?

yeah it's hard at first. First you have to have the right shape wallpaper. Second you have to determine what portion of the image you want on your home screen and use image editing software to move it left or right as needed. It's all been covered numerous times in this thread. I know it's long but if you take the time you'll learn a lot.

Yes it does matter because with LPP you have the ability to resize widgets with just LP you can not

I'd pay the 2.99 def. worth it

Playing with screen density set at 200 in that pic (default is 240)

Dock Can't recall where I got it from but again can upload it if anyone wants it

If it's 960x800, the whole image will be used as your wallpaper. The resolution will be perfect. It can also be larger, but you won't be able to use the whole picture. In that case, drag the green box all the way to the max around the part of the picture you want. You can then put the green box around different parts of the image to get it centered like the ones above. Or either download a 960x 800 version from someone who has already done that work for you.

Went back to a Sense ROM, I'm loving Manup's theme! I'm still working on my screen setup, I have one that's completely empty that I have to figure out lol.

I'll bite. My is simple nothing busy or complicated, though when I first got the phone it turned out that way. However, here is my miminalistic home screen. Still playing with other launchers but this one is Launcherpro.

I wonder if doing some creative photography with the in phone camera could produce fantastic wallpapers. Also there is a photoshop alternative that is absolutely free--I have and love photoshop but I also use a program called Gimp which is a very powerful and free image manipulation program. www.gimp.org
