They have the EVO in their listings now. I refuse to buy games that way though, they need to put them on the market. The way it works right now if you have to do a hard restore you have to buy the game again...

Just gonna go ahead and say, unless the game is 2-d and is something like playing cards or something VERY simple, don't get it. If it's 3D or has multiple textures and whatnot, it will run like CRAP on the Evo until HTC fixes the driver issues for our graphics.

I have downloaded 3 games from gameloft and all of them play well on my phone:

dungeon hunter
assassin's creed
platinum sodoku (nothing major here)

They have all played well and I also got Zenonia as well. I haven't experienced any lag or trouble playing them.

believe it or not, I didn't do anything special for some reason it plays well and I haven't had any problems (yet) playing any of them.

I also don't have a lot of stuff on my phone and I haven't really "edited" anything that much.. the only special thing I have running is "beautiful widgets" which is just my clock and calendar.. otherwise everything is pretty stock standard.

PS... Sho can't get his to run either I can't figure out why especially if it runs on mine...

DO NOT USE GAMELOFT for games on the EVO. They refuse to refund your money when they don't work. And, THEY DONT WORK. Wasted $10.00 on games from that crappy site. Market or bust!

Assassin's Creed works sometimes, others (depending on what APP I have recently downloaded from the market) it will force close. Sandstorm always force closes. Their support is horrible, and they have a no refund policy. The reason they haven't published to the Market is because they know they will lose money because their applications are just ports from one platform to another. They are not specifically tuned for the particular platform you have. Maybe they've fixed the games since I made a stink. But, my one experience with them is enough to say forget them - until they embrace the Market.

Thanks for the info Clambert. For what it's worth i did a hard reset on mine to set it back to factory settings, then reinstalled Dungeon Hunter but still no love. Clambert, would you be willing to back up your apk file and send it to me so i can test it on my phone? Also what version numbers do you have in settings/about phone/software information and hardwareinformation?

(just would like to get this working or at least try to figure out why its not ) thanks!

Ok, I've tried a lot of ways to get this to work on my EVO but so far no go. Clambert, can you grab Astro File Manager off of the market and use it to make a backup of your APK?:

1. get astro file manager from android market
2. go to menu tools app manager/backup
3. select DH then backup
4. connect EVO to pc with USB cord and in notification bar on phone choose connect as disk drive
5. on pc open folder to view files, go to backups, apps and look for the DH.apk file...
6. send me a PM and attach it to the PM

I'm gonna try a couple more things to get this working but i'm about to give up

You can, I have some gameloft games from my droid that work but it's just the general principle that bugs me...if anything their system makes people more inclined to resort to piracy to get their games. These devs really need to start embracing the Market if they want to improve it.

The games work great, actually work better than on my Nexus. Not sure what your issue is but I can assure you performance is great with these games on the EVO.

I've spent the last few hours reading posts about this and it's very odd to me that some folks can get it to work flawlessly on the EVO and some cannot seem to get it to work at all. Some can get it to work on the Incredible and some cannot. Just wierd. I've read many posts where people seem to have Dungeon Hunter working on the EVO just fine, but it doesn't work for me not even after a hard reset and fresh install of the APK that I legally purchased with a formatted SD Card. All i can think of is that there must be some hardware difference between the phones? or some configuration difference that certain people have that others do not? (if it were configuration, it would have to be something done on top of the out of the box settings... as i have tried the DH install like that).
