Important Notes:

• Updates may be released in stages;if you do not see the update on your phone immediately, please be patient.
• Software updates are downloaded and then installed. The device will not be usable during the install.
• The download will take approximately 20 minutes. The installation will take approximately 10 minutes.

Updating your software:
Software will be automatically downloaded to your phone

1. A notification will be sent to the device prompting you to install the update
2. Follow the onscreen instructions to install the update

1. Go to the Home screen
2. Tap Menu > Settings > System updates > HTC software update
3. Tap Check now to see if any updates are available. If a system update is available, tap OK to download the update. Once the download is complete, you will be asked to install it; tap OK.

Check the software version on your phone:

1. Go to the Home screen
2. Tap Menu > Settings > About phone > Software Information
3. The build number and software number show the current version on your phone

This update's primary focus is removing Carrier IQ . At the moment the new update is untested in it's root capacity. Hopefully some news about it will appear in the next few days so those of us who rooted will know whether or not to update.

Edit: 01/20/2012

1. Your device will not update if your bootloader is unlocked. You must relock it to apply the update.
2. It has been confirmed that the update patches the Zerg Rush root method used by the Super Tool. If you have rooted and wish to keep it, wait for a new root method to be released.
