Custom Gmail Ringtone Notification

I used to be able to assign a custom ringtone to Gmail to notify me when I receive an email. I received an update to Gmail this week and now I can not use a custom ringtone to notify me of incoming messages. I can only use the stock ringtones. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Anyone have a fix or suggestion?
