Lol I was just about to post this. Mobile hotspot is an extra $15/month.
Unlimited 4G speeds (no throttle) while 3G will remain throttled after 2.5 gigs.

Was just reading this on Engadget. My only concern is they changed the name of the phone and appear to not be advertising the glasses free 3d or 3d camera and camcorder as features. Does this mean they changed the display and camera? I hope not, I was looking forward to that. Not so much the sense 3.6 but whatever, still gonna be a better phone than the triumph.
Edit:
Just read the link provided by tgebryceee, 3d is still on board. Good to know. This phone is certainly worth more than $300. Gonna get one right away I think.

I am guessing it doesn't have sense 4.0?
They would have had that in the announcement, I would think.
Sense 3.6. I doubt the 4G will be unthrottled after 2.5 gigs, I think the editor on phonedog had info wrong. I don't even know why I bother tweeting VM, the answer to every question I ask is "We don't have an answer to that question right now".

It's throttled after 2.5 gb unless you get the tethering plan as well then it's throttled after 3.5 gb... it says right on VM's site...

If people really wish to see the specs, they can view them directly on the HTC site. A lot of people are already familiar with this phone since it's not new (it's just new for VM USA). By todays cell phone standards, this is an old phone.

Hey ways up guys im new to virgin mobile in general saw this on the news.. if i understood right its 35 dollars for 300 minutes unlimited 4g data or 2.5 gb on 3g if tjeres no (4g coverage in your area)...
My first question is why do they offer 4g unlimited while 3g fullspeed only up to 2.5 of usage...... So if i live in 4g zone I will enjoy unlimited data
I was told that 4G will not be throttled. Only the 3G. I was also told there will be no soft cap for the hotspot as well since it's going to have a monthly add on of $15.
They are currently offering unlimited 4G because there are not going to be very many subscribers. I believe this is a trial period to see how well they can "revamp" Virgin Mobile.
I think once they start releasing more 4G phones, We're likely to see a soft cap/throttling.
This could change, The phone hasn't been released yet after all.
Boost Mobile will be already implanting it's own soft cap of 2.5GB for it's 3G and 4G phones from what I've heard. Virgin Mobile isn't nearly as popular nor does it have as large of a customer base. That's likely why we are getting the true unlimited...For however long it lasts.

I'm so buying this phone. I don't have a problem paying $35 for 4G. (I'll end up losing my $25/month plan... but since I live in Houston, and I'll be able to take advantage of 4G instead of paying more for a service I can't even take advantage of on a daily basis.)
Besides that, this is a AWESOME phone (spec wise) and it already has a sweet array of accessories (cases, batteries, ect.). So what if the phone is "1 year old." At least they did it right and put ICS on it from the start (at least on VM.)
Its great to see Virgin Mobile adding a 4G phone and with the latest 4.0 ICS. I'm sure Sprint is doing this to utilize the 4g WiMax they will be phasing out, as they roll out 4G LTE. I'm interested, but since I purchased the LG Slider back in December, I'll probably will wait for a deal on this phone, before I upgrade. Here's Sprints announcement [link].
Just wish VM offered some kind of roaming plan, since there are areas I travel through that don't have Sprint service. Then I could get rid of my Net10 phone, that works on T-Mobile, AT&T and other GPRS/GSM networks and save $15/mo.

It's right on the VM website, the 4G plan will have the same limits as the 3G (2.5BG/month), unless you purchase the 4G hotspot device and pay the monthly hotspot service fee of 15 bucks. Then it's 3.5GB/month.

The 3D camera is on board, but the3D screen is gone. From an article on the Verge: "As for the handset itself, it looks like a rebranded Sprint HTC Evo 3D, with the notable removal of the 3D screen."
Edit:
The Verge article has been updated twice and now says "Despite Virgin Mobile's site and PR making absolutely no mention of it, we discovered that the HTC Evo V 4G is identical to the Evo 3D in every way, including the 3D screen."
We can be sure of the following: It's some kind of phone that does stuff. You get billed for using it. Beyond that, I don't think Sprint has any idea what the hell is going on.

"4G (WiMax) where available. All plans include 2.5GB/month of full speed data or 3.5GB/month with purchase of mobile hotspot enabled device and plan."
You can hove over the word "More" to see expanded terms, which read
"4G (WiMax) where available. All plans include 2.5GB/month of full speed data or 3.5GB/month with purchase of mobile hotspot enabled device and plan. Virgin Mobile reserves the right, without notice, to limit throughput speeds when monthly data usage exceeds the applicable data usage limit. When a mobile hotspot plan is purchased, the data usage limit is a combination of phone and hotspot usage. Connectivity dependent upon compatibility and speeds may vary. Customers will continue to have data access but maximum speeds may be limited to 256Kbps or below for the remainder of the monthly plan cycle. During this time, customers may experience slower page loads, file downloads, and degraded streaming media. Throughput speeds will be restored when your new monthly plan begins. Beyond Talk plan additional minutes are 10 each. Taxes and fees included, except for those charged at point of purchase, such as state and local sales taxes and fees. Pricing for domestic calls and messages only."

The Verge says the phone has 4GB of internal memory when the HTC website clearly says 1GB. So which one is correct?
What do they mean "looks like"? Is the 3D screen removed, or are they guessing based on a photograph or are they basing this strictly on the new rebranded name?

Can you pretty please provide an official Sprint link that stats 4G will be unlimited with no throttle? Surely this will settle the confusion.

It has both. That may sound confusing but that is how much sense/ boatware takes up. It has 4gb of internal storage, but after the OS is installed, sense, boatware, and all that you get 1gb of user storage.

I assume you're going to need to buy some 3D glasses.
And I guess it has a 2d/ 3d switch on the side even on VM's official site for no reason right? Don't believe 3rd party articles all the time.

Oh, that's right. I had forgotten about that (the CRS gets meh sometimes lol)! You know, these silly people who put those stats up should be clearer about the user storage. They just assume everyone has more than above average knowledge about these things.

The Verge article has a second update saying the phone is just like the Sprint version and has a 3D screen, blah blah. I'm going to correct what I posted above because it's going to cause confusion if I don't.
I'm pretty convinced that the Sprint marketing department is a bunch of interns who are well intentioned but have no idea what the hell they are doing. I'll check back in after the third update that says the phone is solar powered and the fourth update that says they meant the screen is easy to see in direct sunlight.
(Really, I shouldn't believe everything I read? Golly, thanks! )

lol. You mean you didn't know that?!?!?! lol Nah actually a lot of people get confused by that... The MT has 2gb of internal storage with 1gb user storage and most vanilla phones have only like 1gb of space taken by a rom, but with overlays a whole lot more of internal storage gets taken, with sense being the largest overlay of all I believe. Touchwiz probably comes in a close second then all the other ones aren't as bad.

I hope the devs over on the Evo 3D forum jump all over the VM version.
I didn't think the actual screen ever had 3D capabilities.
I'd seen a review of it on youtube and it showed that Sense UI did not carry the 3D abilities.
That 3D functionality was only in the camera and pictures on the original phone.
That's just what I'd seen from the reviews of the original Evo 3D.

The Evo 3D has a stereoscopic 3D screen like the 3ds. I'm not sure what all is 3d but I know there is 3d there somewhere
What I meant was the functionality of the 3D screen was only on limited functions.
The whole phone isn't running in 3D like..Say the handheld game console named the 3DS.
The HTC EVO V 4G is Virgin Mobile's first 4G WiMAX Android device. And if it looks familiar, it is because the phone is the same as the EVO 3D, but optimized for this network.
Release date is set for May 31st, 2012, for a price of $300 off-co... Read More
