Bad Serial Number?
So, after waiting 24 hours, as instructed by VM tech support (see above), I called them back yet again as my EVO still would not activate. After another 45 minutes on the phone with them, jumping through all the usual hoops, my conversation took an odd turn and went a little something like this:
VM Guy: "Umm...Where did you get this phone?"
Me: "From you. This is a replacement you guys shipped to me three days ago."
VM Guy: "Well, it appears that the serial number isn't registered with our network."
Me: "I don't know what to tell you. This is a VM phone shipped to me by VM. Do you normally ship phones with bad serial numbers?"
VM Guy: "Uh...Let me check on something...[Several minutes pass]...Sir, we're going to have to send you another replacement phone. Sorry for the inconvenience."
And there you have it. Another EVO is on its way and I should have it tomorrow afternoon. If this one also has activation problems like my last two (three if you count my wife's EVO), I'm going to freak out.
