I have tried to find a thread that would apply to my phone, but to no avail.
My HTC EVO version 2.3.5 seems to be turning itself on.
My phone was low on battery so I plugged it in to charge and turned it off. A minute later I heard the phone turning itself on!
I left it alone and it did it again. This time I didn't turn it off!
Not sure if it was automatically updating something, but I think that the phone tells you there is a new version update available and asks if I want to update it. I know it turns itself after updating and then turns itself back on.
The second time was even weirder.

Are you on Sprint? If you have 2.3.5, you must have the Evo 4G, which I believe has a category in the forums. Our phone is the Virgin Mobile one. Though I can't help you, I'm sure some others can!

Edit: Try turning off 3G, 4G, and wifi and see if it still turns on. If it does, then it's probably not an update.
