Default Mobile Internet turns on automatically

I have HTC explorer a310e with android 2.3.5(HTC sense 3.5).

My mobile inetrnet is turned on in the absence of wifi automatically. Switching off does not help as it is turned on again. My mobile service is EDGE.

This has caused my balance to be used up in a day. I need help to switch off my mobile internet permanently.

Any help would be appreciated.
