Default Can I access external storage via USB port?

Hi,
Apologies if this has been discussed already - I couldn't find anything specific.

My flyer is running Honeycomb which, I believe, should give it usb host capability?

I'm presently using ES File Explorer and was wondering if I can access files on an SD card (in a reader) attached to the micro usb port, via a dinky usb/micro usb adapter lead I've just bought.

The files are from my camera & it would be most useful to be able to transfer them into the Flyer for display.

There's probably a quite obvious way of doing this with ES File Manager, but I can't see it {

Any help most gratefully received,

Pete
