I know that its going to be $279.99 with a 2 year contract at the sprint retail stores, then you get a $100 mail in rebate which will take it down to $179.99. But I honestly don't like when they say "it will be $179.99," yeah it will be that, a month after you've purchased it (which is about how long it takes to process rebates). It's going to be $279.99 up front, period. Does anyone know what the price of the Hero will be at Best Buy? I would imagine it would be lower so they can compete with the sales of the Sprint stores. I mean, its a win win situation for Sprint regardless of whether or not people buy there or at Best Buy, but if Best Buy wants the initial device sales, their price will have to be lower than Sprint stores. I called the 800 Best Buy # and they could not give me any pricing information. Does anyone here have that info? Thanks!
And thats $179 after the $100 mail in rebate I presume. I mine as well get it at the Sprint store since its the same price. I didn't feel like reading through a bunch of posts and the search feature didn't bring up my answer, so I asked.
Now that is a good deal. I am a Rewards Zone customer, so I may go ahead and pre order tomorrow. Will they let you do preorders on the phone? I live about 1 hour away from the closest best buy and would rather just make 1 trip on Friday.
No you have to go to a store to pre-order. I tried pre-ordering over the phone yesterday with the corporate Best Buy Mobile folks, couldn't do it because they give you a Best Buy gift card in exchange for your $50.
Thanks for the heads up, I'm gonna call my local best buy in the morning to make sure of the early pickup on Friday. If they give me the answers I need to know, I'll drive there tomorrow and pre order then go pick it up on Friday. Thank you!
Don't be surprised if they don't know what you're talking about. If they give you the I don't know about that line, have them go into the employee tool box. If worse comes to worse you can search the Sprint posts for a copy of the coupon.
