Default has anyone tried shape writer?

when i installed shapewriter it said it can collect everything i type and all my passwords? does anyone know anything about this? is this a safe app to use? any info helpful. thanks

It's just a generic warning you get when installing any 3rd party keyboard. Any keyboard could steal your information.

Shapewriter is a pretty reputable app though. Plenty of people around here use it and I've never heard of any privacy problems.

(By the way, did you mean to post this in the GSM hero section? I moved it across since you're a Sprint user).

neither shapewriter nor swype are showing up in the market for my phone. do they need to be dl'd from the website?

Swype is not on the market. You can get Swype from their website, but currently, the Swype Beta program is closed. They re-open it periodically, so either watch here for news on that, or you can register to be notified on their website: Swype | Text Input for Screens

Shapewriter was just purchased by someone (Nuance?) and their app is not currently available in the Market.

I love Shapewriter -- if I'm using someone else's phone where I actually have to tap something out, it just feels archaic.

thanks...i appreciate your help and info. i'm slowly getting used to shapewriter but haven't turned it off since i've installed it. i feel the benefits of getting to know this app far outweigh the learning curve. :P
