Anyone notice any apps they may have had installed before, missing now from the marketplace? I did a hard reset on my device before the firmware update, and now there are some apps that I had before that don't come up when I search (mmafia, and mvampire being two of them).
Hahaha this is amazing!! How did you find this? Is there anything else like this?
If it's the same haircut demo I'm thinking of, it's the one that's been featured in a sound effects exhibit at Disney's MGM Studios park at DisneyWorld for years. Very cool effect.

possibly, try it and let me know, afaik this one was made by college students, but I may be wrong
Does the screen now turn off when on a phone call?
My screen always turned off, I would advise to check the settings on your phone. Also, there is a light sensor on the phone, not sure if that is or can be used in conjunction with a call in progress to turn off screen. If not it would be a nice feature to add later, but liek I said, the screen has turned off for me.
On another note... hahaha, I'm cracking up, First day I was a little busy and not getting my fill, spending some time on the Forum here and what happens? The update is released, lol...
hmmm its like having a new phone, less lag (actually almost no lag), smooth transition between screens, pretty cool.

Same problem... nevermind.. problem solved.
edit: When I frist tried the update, i got called mid update (toward the start where this message came up).
I then tried to update and ran into the same problem.
I tried turning my phone off and on... did the update just fine. If you run into this situation, it is probably for the same reason I did. Just do what I did.

I had to do a factory recent on the phone and it worked. It sucked but that was the only option I had. This was after being on the phone for an hour with Sprint Tech Support.
Reporting that my update worked. I was a bit concerned with how long I had to sit watching the HTC boot screen.....seemed like over 5 minutes before it moved on to loading Android and the SenseUI. I actually plugged in the USB cable and walked away to have dinner. Came back a few minutes later and it was complete.

I thought it was fast in transition before, but this is almost instant. I used my ipod touch while updating my Hero's firmware, and I can honestly say I don't miss it at all. My Hero has surpassed all my expectations. I can't imagine how much better 2.0 will make it.
Update downloaded just fine but now I keep getting force close errors on the phone itself: process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Anybody have any suggestions?
What am i doin wrong i go to settings/about phone/system updates/firmware update. Nothing happens am i going to the right place. HELP!
same thing happens for me, ive been checking for the update all evening, and my phone reports that no updates are available. tried resetting, checking application development settings, still to no avail. This is really pissin me off

Yeah, I was afraid that would be the answer, but at least my contacts are already backed up in gmail. Sigh. This is reminding me of the Instinct all over again (and obviously not in a good way).
still no dice, hard reset, and still nothing available. this sucks man
edit: over at xda there alot of people getting the same thing, no update available, apparantly some peoples are going to update automatically, once the update goes out.

JUST rooting (no custom ROM installed) works fine and you don't need to change back to a stock image. However, you will loose root access to the phone. I haven't had a chance to try re-rooting again yet (need to do it on my WinXP computer at work). Sounds like you can still root the phone with the same method from what I've been reading, though. Will confirm tomorrow.
However, if you've got a custom ROM installed, you will need to change back to a stock image before running the update. But, if you're running a stock image and aren't interested in any of the fixes done by this patch, there's no need to do anything. Just wait for your custom ROM provider to give you an updated image.

Yes same for me. I bought quickdial and it is no longer listed. I emailed the company that I bought it from hoping they can send it back to my phone.
Thanks for the updates guys. My phone OTA update installed all fine. I restarted the phone. But my wake time is still 100% even though I have not done anything. I restarted the phone again but no go.
I went to System->About->Status->scroll to Wake time and manually turned off the screen by pressing power button. Waited for five mins. It still says 100%.
Any ideas?

People reporting 100% uptime after the update, are you at least giving it a few hours and letting it go to standby? You know rebooting resets the uptime?

I have a feeling people are not unplugging the phone and observing 100% uptime, not realizing it doesn't sleep the same way when it's plugged in and 100% is expected.

I have this issue. Missing about 5 apps I paid for including MybackupPro, PowerManager, Act1 Video Player. Very frustrating but at least the more serious issues were fixed. Public Enemy #1 is now ring lag after missing apps are fixed. I have a feeling this will be on google's end.

I had an issue with the TTS library before they updated something and it started showing up. Likewise, I think the app authors will probably have to up a version somewhere in the release file, to make it compatible with this update.
This is pretty bad though, as far as the Android Market experience goes.
I did a hard reset and then upgraded my firmware. I then went to re-install all of my previous applications and noticed that some were missing from "My Downloads". I then went and did a search to locate them in the marketplace and got no return, as if the application doesn't exist any more.
This happened for the following applications...
Golfcard
TV.com
Mathworkout+
NBA Lite
I then soft reset (restarted) my phone but got the same result. Anyone else have this issue?
Device(s): HTC Evo 4G (Sprint) - Rooted - CM 7.1.x Nightly 150

I hadn't realized it until you mentioned it but TV.com is missing for me as well. (It never really worked for me though, which is why I didn't realize it was missing).
hm mine is still at 100% whenever i updated, then took it off the charger for several hours after an additional soft reset. maybe i need to do a factory restore?

new update does make the phone quite a bit snappier huh? like it!

I used the synaptic feedback with the old version and it worked ok. I was just using the keyboard and noticed it seemed slower. I'd be all for turning it off though if it helps. Anyone know how to do this?
edit: It was only with the Facebook app. All other keyboard usage seems to be ok! Actually, faster I think...

I noticed the vibrate too - only in the Phone app. I am afraid this can't be changed back - I already have it turned off in the keyboard settings. Such an odd addition by HTC. Hopefully it'll be fixed soon.

ODD indeed sorta dumb really...anyone have an explanation for this?
