Hi, it seems like whenever I try to send pictures to others via MMS, it won't let me because the pictures are too large. I know I can have my Hero take pictures it smaller resolutions, but I wouldn't want low-res pictures unless I would want to send them via MMS.
The thing is, a lot of times I dont know ahead of time that a picture I am abuot to take with the Hero will be used to send in an MMS. So its hard to make the decision to take in a low res beforehand. I could just switch the Hero to take ALL pics in low res, but then what about all the pics I dont need to send via MMS? They will all be low res...
Anyone know a solution for this? Thanks in advance
I use PicSay to resize the images because I can't stand Handcent (soooo sluggish). There is a free and paid version in the market. Also, in the 2.1 update, the messaging app will automatically resize pictures, so this "problem" will be solved shortly. Not sure why it couldn't do this from day 1, since the Moment does it fine.
Interesting topic... But ultimately, it really all depends on what your intended USE with the picture is. If you are just sending MMS photos not intended for reprinting, then the lower resolution is not so important and it is worthwhile to lower resolution for a number of reasons, one being eliminating the trouble you describe. If you do have a NEED for the pictures to be taken at the highest resolutions capable, then the e-mailing or using the app stated previously is a better way to go.
Remember, the resolution should be set to your intended reproduction use. If you're never going to print out the picture as an 8"x10" photo, you might want to forgo the HIGHEST settings. It's great to be able to TAKE a 5 Mega-pixel picture but most of the time, it just wastes space, lol...
So have no worry about lower resolutions.
IDK, just thought I'd add this.
