Ive recently got a hero from 3.
There is no customisation as such, just a couple of links to the 3 websites for there services. No special backgrounds or branding from 3.
The sense UI is completly cutomiseable so you can change it as much as you like.
The only thing is they only do the white cased handset but it looks quite good and I havnt marked or stained the case in the last few weeks.
great phone, just got mine. Very little 3 customisation, 2 shortcuts I believe that can be deleted.
Make sure you get a good deal, I got it for 26.50 a month and the price on the website is £35.
You can get it with Spotify for £35, they wont discount it, well not when I asked. Better to just sign up to Spotify seperatly anyway so you can always cancel if you want to.
It is a great phone, the only thing is I'm not sure if 3 will release an update to the firmware to 2.1 as they never seem to for any phone (could be wrong though).
If they do can anyone tell me how easy it is to upgrade to a new fimware version and restore all your apps etc. Already got lots and lots and would hate to think I would lose everything and have to redownload it all.
I pay £20.00 a month with unlimited internet.
It would have been £25.00 with spotify.
I paid some money up front wich was a good deal for me.
But with your upgrade, which should be free, you should be able to get as low a monthly tarrif as me. If they dont make sure you haggle and threaten to change providers. You may be able to get an even better deal.
Try getting an upgrade from Carphone Warehouse or somewhere like that. If you go for the White, Black or other standard colour device this should be like having a standard SIM free device as an upgrade.
I don't know the situation with 3, but Orange and T-Mobile users should definitely look at this if they want to be first in line for HTC's updates, as these companies add extra splash screens etc after the standard update.

can anyone tell me whether the Hero on three allows mobile tethering to a PC? ie. can i get mobile internet access by connecting to the hero with bluetooth and using it as a modem? i've heard some networks have that feature locked out on the hero.
£20/month is a sweet deal. though i'm not with three now... wonder if i can land that on the phone or in store....?
