Hi,

I am using HTC Hero, and am using MTNL and BPL loop services. But I am not able to connect via GPRS or EDGE or HSDPA. the APN settings get connected but the mobile network state always displays "Disconnected". I have checked all possible things to get it resolved, but in vain. please see screen shot attached.

Have you verified (with MTNL) your data plan got enabled? (I believe it is MTNL 3G).
APN settings may provide a radio/check box to select any APN we enter; but that doesn't mean APN is correct...
Either issue here is with APN settings or with data plan!!!
