I think I will try to get it at ATT first and see if they will waive the fee. I will then ask really nicely and explain that I have been with them a while, have auto bill pay and have never missed a payment, and am adding a new data plan. If they won't I think I will tell them I am going to try radio shack and see what happens. People have mentioned getting accessory packages. Are these usually offered or can you ask? I am wanting a car charger and possibly a case.
No one has answered my question about a protection plan. Does anyone buy these or do these phones hold up pretty well? This was my main reason for going to Radio Shack instead of ATT. I am not going to best buy.
