I'm sure the Inspire will get it from the community. Just like we get everything else

Eh, looks alright but not much of a difference. I do like those side tab thingies. What I'd like to see is more widgets from HTC, because they make some nice looking ones...there just aren't enough.

It is not the htc inspire.. and the inspire will not get sense 3.0 or 3.5. The phone you saw is codenamed HTC kingdom. It is bot out yet because if the bugs it still has. The phone you saw was a prototype. XDa_developers tv.... Has talk about this phone. The only way to get any upgraded sense, is by installing a custom ROM.

Custom roms are the *only* way to go. You choose what features you want and get all of the cool stuff LONG before HTC and AT&T feel like sending it out as an OTA update...which inevitably also un-roots your phone.

Take a look at this thread - [REF] ALL ROMS | ROOTING | FAQs | STICKIES | POSTING RULES | Read Before Posting - xda-developers - about a quarter of the way down is a sub-section called Guides | Rooting: (The guides to the basics) and in that section you should find what you're looking for.

A word of caution though, watch yourself on XDA Forums, they have very strict rules about postings and are not the nicest people sometimes. They are a *fabulous* source of information, but take themselves entirely too seriously and sometimes get all riled-up over an innocent question whose answer they feel can be found by searching the threads.

Good luck!

Any updates on this? I saw some HTC Sensation video with the new Sense, and I want it.

I'll be honest with you, I've rooted five android phones and the Inspire 4G was by far the most difficult of them all. I am no tech expert, but I'm reasonably competent when it comes to rooting. None the less, the program that I used - "Bubby's 1 click" - was an absolute *bear* to get through. They may have come up with newer or better versions since March, when I rooted mine, so check around for the easiest version - unless you're very familiar with rooting android phones and feel adventurous.

Good luck - rooting really *IS* worth the effort.

The Inspire is one of the first phones to get the new upgrade according to many other Android sites.

Where has it been said that the Inspire will be the one of the first to get Sense 3.5? I'm not aware of any phones getting it officaly yet except for the unreleased HTC Bliss.

The Desire HD is getting offical sense 3.0, no idea if the inspire will but it should.

What new upgrade? You mean an OTA? I haven't been keeping up on "official" updates because I'm rooted and plan on staying that way.

for those who are rooted look up the RCMix Bliss rom. ive been running 3.5 on my inspire for a little less than a week. personally i like it, its not a big change from sense 3.0 but its still nice. The rom itself is a little unstable (my phone wont wake when i press the power button sometimes so i have to pull the battery, things like that) and i believe they said bluetooth isnt working either. im on v1.3 dont klnow if theyve updated it yet havent had the chance to check but i thought id give anyone whos interested the heads up its worth checkin out.

Edit: Would post a few screenshots but i dont have that privlage yet

Edit 2: h**p://www.forums.acsyndicate.net/showthread.php/2267-ROM-Sep-04-2011-RCMix3d-Bliss-v1.3-The-Original-android-2.3.4-incl.-sense3.5-OC

went ahead and got a link for you guys. if anyones wondering you can overclock to 1.6 ghz max the rom itself seems to run nicely other than some of the problems i mentioned earlier

This rom is based on Bliss WWE ruu
no chinese leak

The Desire HD and Inspire are the same phone, different market versions.

I'm not sure that I understand your point. Are you saying that AT&T would have some objection to an upgrade for the Inspire? If so, WHY?

It isn't that they object to it, it is based on their work schedule and how much work it will take them to send out the new update.

Motorola Droid's only got the GB update like yesterday.

Yes, but that phone - the Droid 1 - is pushing two years old. I'm surprised in some respects that Motorola & Verizon are still supporting it.

Concerning the rooting statement, the best by far is Ace Hack Kit 12.3. There is no need to use anything else, it is not worth the trouble. You simply follow the manual that comes with it that gives step by step instructions. You can't mess it up as long as you FOLLOW the directions. I have rooted numerous Inspire's with it.

I have rooted 2 using the ace hack kit, it works great. My personal choice of ROM is LeeDrOiD with sense 3.0

I saw the bliss rom with 3.5 but it is still in its infancy

The Ninja Rom is a nice NON-Sense rom, if you want to try something different.

If you're rooted, you can download RCMix3D_Runny_v1.2 from the XDA Developers Forum and find out for yourself what it's like. Go here - [ROM][Sep 16-2011]RCMix3d Runny v1.2 [Official runnymede sense 3.5 Android 2.3.5][OC] - xda-developers - and read what's available.

I liked the runny ROM, but I had some issues with the browser, and occasional locking...back to android revolution.

I do like all the detail they've put into that rom though! Its really a good one!

Sense is really nice but it is a heavy beast. Even when rooted it limits your phone. Interface is win but its buggy. I'm a bit surprised there hasn't been a cm7 suggestion so far.

It wasn't 3.5 then. HTC phones do look alike, it could be the new Vivid or Sensation.

There is a rom called Beatmod that is very close to what you see in the pics attached to the first post. And the Android Revolution HD is very stable to. Both have Sense 3.5. Both huge improvements over the stock. I've tried every rom there is and these 2 are my personal choices, not like my opinion really counts for anything but the 3.5 is out there for rooted Inspires.
