Default Nook App worth it or just battery drain?

I have the HTC Inspire and am flying across country - do I bother with the Nook app & download the book or will my battery die halfway there? (My battery seems to stink on this phone anyway) anyone have any experience with this app or am I just better off buying books?

I know this is a bit old, but I use a reading app called Cool Reader and I love it. Its perfect, literally it is the perfect reading app, nothing I would change.
