SIM CARD Changed

Hello - Today I got this mesage when switching the phone on - Sim Card changed tap here to change your settings
.
When I do that I tthen get the following message
the application settings (process.com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again...
Using an HTc Legend

Any thoughts as to what I can do please?
