Default HTC One X+ Standard SMS

Hey Guys,

I recently purchased a HTC One X+ really love the phone but it seems to have significant limitations on what emoticons / smileys you can place in a text message.

I have checked the settings and done a few searches on Google looking for a solution, so far have not found a viable solution without utilising a third party application such as "Handscent" or "Go SMS Pro".

It's worth noting that I can see a lot of emoticons that my friends send using iPhones & Win8 Phones - they display as black 2D images in an 'Android' version of what was sent, however I myself cannot put these into a text message.

I will take some screenshots and put them up to better explain.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

This is a screenshot of the emoticons I have available:

This is an example of how messages come through from iPhones and Windows phones:

Honestly, that may be your only choice - using a third party SMS/ MMS app if you want more choices. I guess I haven't found myself limited personally so it hasn't been an issue for me.
