Default Moving Apps?

Hi guys,

I've got a new ONE X+, so i wanna move my apps over from my old DHD.
I've found and pulled the " .android_secure folder" folder off, but the folder lay out is different on the X, so i'm unsure where too put it, so the phone will see the apps...

Anyone know? Cheers.

Why not just reinstall them from the play store? Sign in on your computer, it will show everything you have installed on your DHD, then you can click them to install them on your HOX+

I had just this problem. There is a post on this forum earlier. I tried doing what you want using my back up pro. I had a bit of a disaster in that they installed somewhere they shouldn't have done, giving me messages all the time that I was low on storage.. I had to factory reset to sort then installed from Google play. Very easy but you lose all data, nobody seed to find a work around unless you are rooted which I'm not. Was worth it in the end as my hox works really well now

Yes, if you sign in on your computer it basically shows every app you've ever downloaded. You can also remove them from showing on the list too, if you like to keep things tidy. You won't get your app data though, that's not kept with your account so your games will be starting over from scratch.

As long as you have installed at least one app on your new phone using the same GMail account, then both phones should show up as available devices.

Providing the app/game is compatible with the new phone you should be able to reinstall the game/app.

Sometimes you can retrieve your save files without the need of being rooted. This is trial and error tho.

Just grab a file browser such as Astro File Manager on your old phone, fire it up and get to your files. Once in the main folder look for a folder called 'Android'. Enter that and then 'Data' and look for the folder name that matches the game your looking for.

Now look for a file or folder that might say 'Savefile.bin' or 'Userdata.cfg' or the like and you have a 50/50 chance of them files being what you are looking for. Best way to check is to look at the date and time stamp of your selected file. Now start the game up and play for a bit, save and exit noting the time. Now go back into that folder and see if the time has changed on the file to match the time you noted? If so your in luck, back them up via an email to yourself/Dropbox or through your PC.

Now install the game on your new phone, start the game up at least once so that all files/folders are created and save a game. Your should make sure the game is not running in the background first, so FC it in your Settings/apps. Now fire up Astro again and look for the games folder again and see if you can replace the new save with the old one by overwriting it? Start the game up an see what happens..

It should be noted not all games/apps will show in the Android folder as some will require root access. But it is worth a punt and the worse thing that can happen is you cause the game to crash/FC. If that happens just uninstall the game and reinstall clearing the data/cache first.
