I have noticed a lot of people using the HTC Desire before they made the switch to the One X. It's the same in my case, I also used an HTC Desire before making the switch.
So I was interested in seeing what devices you guys used before the One X.

Desire HD. I could upgrade in January, but had a totally agonising wait until the start of the month before this came out. I nearly went for the Nexus, but I'm glad I was patient.

Desire for me too. Was on the lookout for a new phone. I got the heads up from these forums that HTC was nearing the release of new phone so decides to wait. Really pleased I did. Well impressed so far.

I've been having a read through this subforum as I got my One X on Monday and thought this was as good a thread as any to say hello to everyone. Seems a good phone so far, but I'm now just about to unlock the bootloader as I need rid of Sense asap! I've come from a two year old Desire by the way
Desire for me. Was a fantastic phone, apart from the storage issue.
Yeah storage was a HUGE problem for me on my Desire. I've actually found the built-in internal storage pretty useful. No need to hassle with SD cards anymore.
My most recent device lineage is Atrix 4G -> (International- Yakju) Galaxy Nexus (so I am used to the 16GB storage limitation we will see stateside here)
Desire for 20 months, Sensation XE for 4 months and One X now. Not that the Sensation XE is no good but because the One X is superb. Really like the camera and video function, takes very good pictures, even indoor night photo looks clear and sharp. The screed display is very good and natural, viewing outdoor at auto setting is still good, one of the best HTC phone to date. Will likely stay with One X for a year or more until the next worthy HTC new phone is available.
Desire for me, contract expired about 4 months ago but they put me on a short term contract so i could upgrade any time. Been waiting for the right phone, delighted with my choice.

Although at the last minute I went for the Galaxy Note after obsessing about a One X for weeks - I think I would have been very happy with a One X - I thought I would contribute here; I was a HTC Desire user before.
Last phone I had was an Orange San Francisco (ZTE Blade) which was my first introduction to Android. As you can imagine the step up to the One X is a significant one!
However, I have owned both an iPhone 3G and an iPhone 4 in the past. Seems a long time ago now though and I'm now a complete Android convert, definitely.
I came from the HTC Desire. Pretty much got the One X the day it came out in the UK. Had to drop it back a week later since 3G was pretty much busted on my model. But the shop replaced it without any fuss. And the new one has been a star.

Funny you should mention that. I had to phone vodafone today as my 3G wasnt working, it only worked the day that i got it and hasnt since no matter what i tried. So today being the last day of my 7 days i phoned up and the replacement comes on tuesday.
Has anyone else suffered from lack of mobile internet.
I used the Google phone, Nexus One, for the past 2 years. It was a great phone, still is, but the One X is quite awesome. It helps that both are HTC phones... logic is so similar.
Been waiting a long time for a good phone.waiting for the release of the one x. Been out of comtract for a year now leaving lg arena never buying another lg product again most gruesome experince.this will be my first android phone. Looking forward to this phone.

Had the Samsung Galaxy S, then HTC Desire, then HTC Desire HD, then Samsung Galaxy S2, then Galaxy Nexus and now One X.. I love HTCs and have had enough of samsung and their overuse of cheap plastic now!

Haven't got my OneX yet, getting it tomorrow, but I'm going from a Desire. Considered a lot of phones to upgrade to, even been waiting for the S3, but now i've seen and read about the S3, its the OneX for me.
Besides, I really like HTC Sense and the way HTC's work.
My Desires served me well.
I came from an iPhone 4. I had resontly got a new iPad and have had a MacBook pro for a long time now, so thought that I had to many apple devices and needed something fresh and new. For me the htc one x seemed like the best choice and so far I would have to say I'm very pleased. Only issues I have is that there are no pop ups notifications when then phones screen is off but other then that I love it.
I still have my iPhone 4s.If I keep the one x I will sell my 4s. 4 years with iPhone I just need a change. The one x and the nexus are the only android that made me want to jump ship
Device(s): Samsung Galaxy Note II N7100. (Was HTC One X before that)

I went from an iPhone4 to using a blackberry bold 9900 but missed a couple of apps so started a new contract for a desire s that had unlimited data so I could use that for tethering etc (I work away from home a lot).
So, decided that running two handsets was too expensive so when the bold contract was up I bought the hox as sim free to replace the desire s.
Made a good choice with the handset, I love it. Just unsure of my decision to use Three UK as my network... Only time will tell on that one.
Came from the Samsung Skyrocket. Yeah, no contest.
+1 on the Skyrocket. I had the rocket for about 3 months because my previous phone, Atrix, broke. The skyrocket was great but the X is just awesome.
Its the first time in a LONG time that I dont have my sights set on another phone on the horizon. I could definitely be happy with this phone for....ugh....a year??
