Default micro sim problem

hi, I finally got my htc one X. it came with a normal sim card so i had to cut it into a microsim. i didn't cut anyhing of the gold chip but now my one x doesn't recognize the sim card. do you guys have any ideas???

by the way is there a way to check if my one X is unbranded or not?

I'm sure your providers local retail store would be able to provide you with a mirco SIM for your phone.
