just updated my hox to 4.0.4 and all seems well but it seems to take longer to react when turning on. i get the unlock wallpaper but it takes a while to let me unlock. anyone else got this?
Not quite sure what the fuss about HTC quick settings. I just use Widgetsoid - free from market.
You can then choose whatever you want - I've got battery level, shortcut to sound settings, WiFi, GPS and data toggles.
I'll look into that, but I've always just used one of my homescreens as a utilities area with shortcuts and widgets to toggle settings.

Settings on the notification screen are useful - as you can pull the notification bar down from the lockscreen, or in some apps to toggle settings. Its just a bit quicker.

I tried using 1TapQuickBar to give me settings in the notification bar, but it killed battery life... Switched to Power Toggles and it works well, so I'm able to hold off being upset about not having quick settings
Thought id check in to see whether my One X was missing any updates. Looks like it is, Orange branded though so no doubt I wont see my update till around November im guessing. Why do i continue to stick with these clowns?

That's exactly why I went through Dialaphone - sick of providers messing up handsets.

i remember emailing Orange to ask about the update on the desire
only to get the reply "what update ?"
i think December or January before we get it
Asked OrangeHelpers on twitter today about the update, but got the usual
"I'm afraid we dont have any information at the minute"
I did the same thing. I asked if they don't have any information why won't they find out the information. "I'm afraid we can't," came the reply. My reply "Can't or won't? No reason for the former so I'm guessing it is the latter" hasn't received a response.

I also mentioned in my tweet that other networks have already released it but still the same response.

Orange STILL claim to know nothing about the update, saying they're "waiting on information." What information? Why are they "waiting" - why not go and ask their software engineers if they've done their stuff with it and sent it back, or ask HTC for a schedule?
At this rate we'll be getting Jellybean when those with unbranded handsets are running Sticky Toffee Pudding.
(And before someone suggests it, no, I don't want to install a custom ROM.)
Yea, I got the same reply yesterday, they have no idea when its coming out. What on earth they are doing is another question like, probably high 5'n each other that theyve got 4g. No doubt another thing which theyl epically fail at, as they are useless. I imagine we will get the update end of November when every other network is rolling out Jelly Bean!

The annoying thing is that if they didn't faff around with the updates in the first place to brand the handset they wouldn't have to faff around with the later ones either! Also maddening that they always claim not to know things, whereas other networks at least provide an ETA, even if it is spectacularly wrong (e.g. the Vodafone update for November which came out a week ago.)
I'm just hoping that Orange were confused yesterday and were somehow thinking we were talking about the Jellybean update rather than 4.0.4, and that it may be HTC who are stalling, spreading the load on their update server. We can dream.
Does anyone know if they are experiencing problems with the lock that sometimes when you press it only the bottom icons light up and nothing else also the rescue feature where do I find that and I think the quick settings should be up the top like on Samsung's , any help appreciated
try restarting - if that doesn't work, do a back-up and a factory reset
Spoke to helpful person at T-mobile. INstructed to hold volume down button and then power button until phone powered off. It then restarted and found networks
