If I were you, I'd get it fixed by HTC, as the warranty will still be valid if they do it themselves. If you think it's a little too expensive, then you could find out how much it would cost to get repaired at a local phone repair shop (you may find that it costs a little less, but have to factor in that the warranty would no longer be valid).
Your second option is something we would not be able to discuss, as it would be against forum rules to discuss it.
