Default Contact photos issues

When I open my stock messaging app, only a random handful of my message strings shows a contact photo. This changes randomly, as different contacts will have photos some times, and sometimes not. Everyday it seems that a different handful of contacts have photos. Does anyone else have this issue?

I haven't seen this issue before personally.

Are your contact pictures synced to Facebook?

If so have you tried going into Settings > Apps > All > Contacts Storage and then clearing the cache?

Or resyncing via the Facebook app.

I haven't seen this either. Anytime I ran another rom like CM10, I had to sync all of my photos from Facebook to Gmail, then they looked and worked fine. Stock seems to work just fine as long as I am syncing my contacts with Facebook.
