Default vibrates for 1 notification several times since update

since running the recent over the air t-mobile, htc, android update thing i've had an issue where if i get an email or text or whatever i get the vibrate notification then if i don't look several minutes later it vibrates again and this goes on until i have a look. it used to just vibrate the once, which is easier on the battery!

unless you're getting a ton of notifications, i don't think that it's actually really that hard on the battery to run the vibration motor for a little bit every few minutes. But I really have no idea why that is happening.
