Hi dencio, they're just rumours at the moment, if you read the link in the first post, it was supposed to start rolling out last week, but no one seems to have it yet.
Tnx mate. I thought i was left behind with the update. Im new to android scene. Il just enjoy ICS for the meantime. Cheers

Yep, also in Bangkok. Your CID is likely the same as mine. Its htc_044 which is the SEA version. It was supposed to be the next to roll out 2 weeks ago after the htc_619 (?) Taiwan roll out.
I guess that the hearsay of finding issues/bugs with the Taiwan roll out must be right. So I'm happy to be waiting for a stable release and that HTC put the roll out on hold.
No one knows that for sure yet. If you ask them on their official Facebook page they will respond with "Soon" or "We will inform you right on time when the update is available, thank you for being patient" and bla bla bla But I really do HOPE that it will be SOON :-D
However, still no dates. "blahblahblahhardtotellwhenblahblahblah" come on you guys, you already have it pushed to some handsets. Let's at least be honest about when it's gonna happen. :P
Rumors says its been delayed until 19th of November...
I'd be happy if it's before Christmas so if this is true that would be rather spiffing!
Cheers

Does anyone know if the jelly bean update for the hTC one x will include the split screen multi tasking like the galaxy S3 has?
Does the android operating system 4.1.2 make this possible or is this something that only Samsung touchwiz makes possible?
Someone just showed me this on their galaxy S3 and I am rather jealous.
Will the jelly bean update for the at&t one x make this possible?
I am strongly thinking no is the answer.

Nothing in the UK yet and I have an unbranded handset so presume I'd be first in line.. the wait goes on Wish HTC would be a little more transparent about stuff like this, just the odd update about what is going on would be nice.

They're cagey on releasing info, just in case they get it wrong, change/their mind.
Right up until the 11th hour, they said the Desire HD was getting ICS, then about 2 days before everyone thought it would be rolling out, they did a total 180 and said they couldn't do it. They caught MASSIVE flak for that.
It's frustrating to the end user, but I can sort of understand their MO in not being too specific.
(sorry - I hope it's OK to cross-link. If not, please remove it).
Somebody has cited on there that it's being rolled out today, but gradually.
TBH, I can't wait for a new version, but ICS works just fine for now. Yes, HTC could communicate better, but when you're developing new tech, absolute deadlines are nigh on impossible. It is a little annoying that it's available on the newer flagship, but everything I've got works (although video is a little jittery).
Of course people have custom ROMs that are available now. The one I installed on my Desire never did fully work either. Fine if you want to install them yourself, I can't be doing with that right now. I've seen some, and they're great. Not for me though.
I'm in the camp that would rather have something right than something now, as frustrating as it may be.
Also, it would be silly to expect a major update to be available to everybody immediately. Their servers would fry, we'd get failed downloads, and they'd end up with a load of problems that nobody needs. They're not Microsoft, or Google.
The update will be here, and hopefully quite soon for a majority of us. It does make me laugh when post that they're putting their handset up for sale because of a delay in updates. And a little bit sad that people feel that entitled and get that worked up about it.
I'm itching to get the update now. Got a brand new shiny Nexus 7 on Saturday and 10 mins out of the box updated it to JB 4.2 but the quick play I had on 4.1 was great although 4.2 on Nexus is fantastic. Google Now is great I will settle for 4.1 on my One X. I want it now on my HTC One X. PLEASE
What is carphone warehouse? If my phone came from there would that mean I got a refurb? I had to make a claim through asurion and I just got my replacement that costs me 200$ a few days ago. It came in an official box like its brand new though?

Your CID generally denotes what carrier your phone is made to be used with. I'm presuming Toby thought cwh meant Carphone Warehouse.
As a longterm user of HTC products I'm disappointed by this latest rollout. I know thé work that goes into it ,but its thé lack of communication from a company that's supposed to be a leader in communications its a bit odd.
I'm not going to throw my toys out and get rid but a bit of communication would go down. Well right now.
I've read on Twitter UK is pushed back until 2013 is so that is rubbish news.
On Twitter:Mark Moons, manager HTC Netherlands /Belgium, says it comes this quarter but when I read between the lines he's suggesting that it may be 4.2....
I've had a bit of a go at HTC UK on Twitter ,anyway they assure me it will be very soon and worth waiting for . I told them to stop entertaining pop hasbeens that are pushing their products and concentrate on thé customer's they have. If you are on Twitter do thé same maybe we might get listened too and get somewhere.
The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to vercingetorix For This Useful Post:
Just had a tweet from HTC_UK who inform me that , and I quote: "Hi there, thanks for your tweet. Our engineers are working on the last details it as we speak - It will be worth whe wait!"
p.s. grammar mistake is not mine... All this but still NO definitive time / Date

I seriously doubt that, since the 4.2 source was released less than a month ago... they haven't had time to throw sense on top of it yet.
Don't give a specific release date - User base in uproar
Give a specific release date, can't meet it for technical reasons - User base in uproar
Not being specific is a safety net, they'd look much worse if they said it will be here by XXX and they didn't make it.
As a well established company they should have the initiative to release an official statement outlining any issues they are having rather than keeping us all in the dark unless we probe them through twitter.
I re-Tweeted them asking of an idea about the time scale, guess what! No answer this time... Still no excuses, they are a large company and should be able to give people who buy their products this info, as they say, "its not rocket science"

Reason: spelling
It's poor customer service if nothing else. Thé only way you get any answers from them is too publicly slate them on Twitter before you get a vague response.
In a couple of weeks we will look back on this and laugh hopefully.
Predicting development deadlines is a bit like saying when it's going to rain next. You could have a fair guess that gets more accurate the closer you get, but you'll never know for sure until your head's wet.
I'd hate to be in HTC's shoes, who are essentially being accused of lying (the evidence of which I interpreted differently), mis-communication (if I were to contact any customer support ten times with a technical query, I reckon I'd get ten different answers), and poor planning (as mentioned, damned if you do and don't).
Samsung have JB, and it's buggy. I'd rather wait, thank you. How long? As long as it takes (within reason). How long will that be? I'll let you know when I've done it. How much will that cost me? Oh, nothing.
If they release a sub-standard version today, the technical implications are going to cost much more to rectify than if we all waited a little longer and got the job done properly in the first place.
Sure, they could possibly communicate more, but they don't. And that won't make a difference to the release date.
I'm in the wearing out the update button camp, but I also appreciate that we are a very small percentage of users, the rest of which are more than happy with their fully functioning HOX running ICS. No matter what any large company does, they're always going to get people with issues.

I agree with this but there is another way. A company called Beamdog is working on enhancing an old loved game called Baldurs Gate, the head guy posts on twitter all the time saying what has been done, what worked and what totally failed and had to be redone.. it gives you a sense of involvement and they never promise anything.. just keep you in the loop and it was great PR.
I honestly think it wouldn't be too hard for all mobile phone companies to do this too regarding updates, no promises on dates just a quick tweet every now and then saying what they are up to would stop a lot of the negative feeling towards them. It's not gonna happen though but we can dream
I got the update few weeks ago...JB is really fast and great but google now is not answering my question(I mean not talking back to me)
What should i do-.-
The tweet I received this morning from HTC_uk stated the update has been rolled out in Taiwan and will continued to be rolled.out across Asia and europe. So basically we will have to wait,I believe we would of had this if not for the onex +

Uhm ... as "one" previously said : "it only answers specific questions" ...so : Ask the right questions !
