Default is my htc a refurb??

hi can anyone tell me if my phone is refurbished. i purchased the htc one x from carphone warehouse on the network o2. ive only had it 3 days and just noticed when i go into settings/about/phone identity there is heading called phone number and under it is a mobile phone number totally different to mine.

Unless it was sold as a refurb, I'm pretty sure they're not allowed to do that.

I've seen a similar issue on other HTC handsets. There is a fix iirc, I'll just need a second to find it.

Mine was similar for a while (from mobiles.co.uk - online affiliate of cpw).

When I ported my phone number over from my old network - that settings page didn't update - it still showed the old number.

The settings page has now been updated as it has been back to HTC for the WiFi fix. I think they reflash the software when you send it in, so it must have picked up the number then.

It could have had a sim in it for testing/ activation, but this doesn't mean it is a refurb - just that page doesn't seem to update very well.
