Mad Keyboard not registering "W"

Hey guys, new to this forum and my first post is also about a problem with my phone.

However, I digress; for some odd reason my on-screen keyboard doesn't register the "W" key anymore, this also just started happening yesterday. I've tried a lot of things to fix it. I tried recalibrating the keyboard and I tried changing keyboards to Swiftkey, Go Keyboard, but to no avail, sometimes if I press it in the right exact area maybe the W will work, however most of the times it doesn't. There's even an option in Go Keyboard to add arrows at the bottom of the keyboard, so this raised the W up a little higher in the screen, oddly though, it still doesn't work, and in the area where the W was before is now "A", which works fine. I also tried a factory data reset, with no success.

Also, to give some more insight; yes icons and other things do regularly work on that part of the screen, and all this is on a HTC One X with 4.1.1.

Hope someone can help me out.

Welcome

Have you looked in the language settings? Is it set correctly? Clutching at straws, it's the only thing I can suggest (you've tried everything else I would have).

Also, does swyping the words work? Is it just when the key is actually pressed?

Very odd

Could it be the touch screen with a blind spot in the place where the W on your keyboard is and your only noticing it when trying to type?

Download the Screen Touch app or similar and test to make sure the touch screen is fine around the W area.

Open the dialer, and type in *#*#3424#*#*

You should then be taken to a test screen with an option to test the touch screen (amongst other things).
