Notsure wifi performance- what to expect from one x

Hi all
Been following forum for while but first thread!
Had my one x since launch, great phone but very frustrating..
WiFi always seemed poor but phone just packed in, won't charge or turn on so gone to three for repair. Gone back to my old desire interim and WiFi performance is excellent so this tells me either my one x was faulty or the one x has design/ software issue. Not knowing what to expect when I get it back. Hopefully they will fix everything and I will be happy chapppy!
Or am I expecting too much and have to accept the poor WiFi performance is one of the joys of owning a one x. I also have a dead spot in the middle of the touch screen which I was going to send phone back anyway, but as it completely packed in forced the issue.
I am still waiting for JB also from three so anyone had this yet? The forum is full of WiFi issues after update so not sure if my poor WiFi performance will get worse not better.
Any way my desire picks up WiFi from every room in my house, the one x from the room with the router and parts of the adjacent room, do something is not right.
Anyone used three repair UK?
Not sure if I will get my phone repaired or a used replacement? My phone is immaculate, case and screensaver so won't be happy if they fob me off with a well used replacement
