Default New HTC Sense 4+ update

So my HTC One X just updated last night, still learning about the new features and things, but I noticed this weird icon in the taskbar. Could anyone could help me by telling what it is, or what it's for? I'm posting a link from postimage.org where I posted it at, because it wouldn't upload in the attachments in here for some reason, so sorry about that.

(it's the icon to the left of my alarm icon)

There's an issue with attachment uploads at the moment, we're working to resolve it. Sorry for any inconvenience.

That's the NFC (Near Field Communications) icon. If you head to Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> More, there should be a tick in the box next to NFC. Untick the box and the icon should disappear.

I have my NFC checked in settings, but no icon. Any ideas why?

Not sure Kevin, sorry

FWIW, it doesn't display on mine either, but NFC still works.

Depends on what model/carrier you have. AT&T branded models on sense 4+ are the only ones I know of that display a persistent icon... if anyone has it, and what I just said doesn't apply to you, please let us know.
