Or maybe they dont have to invest in Sense 5 and just let the user install other launcher.
Chong67, It will work perfectly fine with T-Mobile's LTE, GSM, and the 1900Mhz band of HSPA. It will not work with T-Mobile's AWS (1700/2100Mhz) HSPA+. It is the same exact phone as the Unlocked one except it is pure Android. It makes more sense (no pun intended) for them to offer it as an Unlocked phone and T-Mobile is investing all their money in switching HSPA over to 1900Mhz. Sense isn't a skin as people often incorrectly label it, but an Operating System with Android as it's base. Much like Suse and Ubuntu are Operating Systems with Linux as it's base. I can't see anyway to put that in the Playstore.

I have ordered my ONE
Sooo excited, apparently the guys who i ordered it from are doing next day delivery and they have it in stock.
Buymobilephones.net

Check em out, check em out, check em out

This >here< is a few of their available tariffs, i ordered the T-Mobile one with 600mins
Hopefully the same thing that happened before doesnt happen this time round, fingers crossed guys

*Edit*
It seems like i wont be getting it today, apparently there isnt any stock now. Despite the website saying there was when i ordered, it now says "Order now for delivery in 1-2 days", which means Monday-Tuesday (since they don't deliver on weekends).
I did receive an email saying that due to a lack of stock, i may get the One in 5/7 working days :'(
Why is life soo against you?

So the HTC Google experience and the HTC Unlock on HTC site are the same device except for Sense 5 and both will have problems on T-mobile.

I am thinking of getting a T-mobile version for me and my wife will get the Google experience version. My wife does not have any data plan.

Then I will be able to tell you all my experience and the 1900 mhz coverage.

Still waiting for the $579 price to come down.

Was going to buy a One at Tmobile store tonight, but back out. Something just tells me it is not a big upgrade from my Nexus 4. I didn't like the S4 either while I was there.

Honestly, if you have a nexus 4, i don't see much of a reason either except for the camera. The One has a better processor and a better screen but the nexus 4 is still one of the best phone right now.

I thought both have the same spec on the back camera at 8 megapix and the front on One is slightly better.

There is no timer on the One for the camera. I install another app call Cmaera Zoom fx and it has timer. Having timer means u can take your own pict further away. When I held my camera up close, I get double chin!

Technically the Nexus 4 has a 8 megapixel camera on the back while the HTC One only has a 4 ultrapixel camera on the back. With that said it isn't always about how many megapixels the camera has.

It depends on a number of things, including software which the Nexus camera lacks. The HTC One camera is significantly better when comparing to the Nexus 4.

I bought the phone just now at the store. It is $609.99. With a new plan it would be $579.99. So total is $650 something.

Default Looking to purchase an HTC One

I live in the United States and want to buy an unlocked HTC One, so far it seems the cheapest place to get it from is simply the HTC online store, but I came across this listing on Amazon and I want to know if you guys this it's real:

Amazon.com: HTC One M7 802w 4MP Ultrapixe 4-Core 1.7GHz 4.7" Dual SIM Android Smartphone: Cell Phones & Accessories

It seems a bit too good to be true to me, but if it's real I'm getting one!

Ok this is kind of a stupid question, but here goes. I just got tmobile for the first time with a Nokia Lumia 521. If I buy a HTC One and put my sim card in it, will everything be set and ready?

I have a 4g plan and everything. I'm not wondering about photos, music and stuff, just if my account will work simplly by putting my SIM card in another phone (specifically the HTC one)

With any GSM handset the answer is "yes" (as long as the handset is not locked to a network).

Were you answering my question? If you were, thank you! I just have to buy the unlocked version and load my sim card, correct. I was planning on getting the t mobile one or the unlocked.

Yes, that is correct.

That's actually the whole point of the SIM card - it identifies you to the network, and any phone you put it in becomes "your phone". The only thing to watch is that a phone bought from a network will almost certainly only accept that network's SIMs. So a T-Mobile or unlocked model should be fine (check 3g/4g frequencies on the unlocked model match T-Mobile).

I last bought a handset through a contract in the 90s. Since then I've just bought offline phones and transferred the SIM.

Keep in mind that the Unlocked version does not support HSPA+ on AWS (1700/2100) on T-Mobile, only HSPA+ on 1900 which is currently going through build out.

Yea, I knew what SIM cards so, never dealt with them because Sprint barely uses them, at least when I had Sprint. Like I said, just switched to t mobile and while the answer to my question seemed simple enough, I just wanted to make ABSOLUTELY sure before dropping up 3 or 400 + dollars for the HTC One. thanks for the answers.

Sorry, by Build Out I mean that T-Mobile is currently upgrading their network and transferring HSPA+ over from AWS, which requires 1700mHz for the download and 2100mHz for the Upload (I may have that backwards), to 1900mHz for both. It will be cleaner and faster with about the same amount of signal penetration. So far 1900 is up and running in a few places but not widespread yet to my knowledge. What does this mean for you? Well if you have the Unlocked version and you are somewhere without LTE(most likely you are) and 1900mHz HSPA+ (also a good chance) then your data would be on Edge. At least this is in line with everything I have read. I could be missing a piece here but the Unlocked version is basically the AT&T version (it is 100% compatible with AT&T).

@ FallOutNerd - never doubted your understanding. You were clearly trying to be absolutely sure, so I tried to pitch my answer accordingly

The point about frequency has been explained, and as I'm not American probably better than I can do. The thing is that all Ones are equal for 2G, but not for 3/4G, so you should check carefully before buying an unlocked handset whether it does what you want.

My Tmo One is $650 out of the door w/o a new sign up. Where do u get 3 to 400 hundres? :-)

I was going to the unlock from HTC, but decide to go with the Tmo version as I know it will 100% work plus it has more frequency than the HTC Unlock.

I have use Nexus 4 and I find out when on 3G (which is HTC One 2G on the phone) is not that great.

Just received an email saying this is going on sale today at Amazon for 79.99 for both AT&T and Sprint. It is a one day sale.I'm sure there are restrictions, but this is a great price. Just thought I would pass it along. Cheers

To add random unknown phone numbers to the block list, go to your call history screen. From here long press the phone number and a menu pops up. Choose block contact. That's it.

If you want to see who all is being blocked, click the menu hamburger on the top right of the screen to get to your blocked list and it's screens.

Hope this helps someone else out as well.
Nice tip, bcrider.

I've been thinking about getting an HTC One, but now I've got my mind made up knowing there are hamburgers on the One menu.

That's those 3 horizontal lines in a stack. I read that term is popular in the iOS community and shows up on a lot of their blogs.

Most places it shows up as 3 dots, in our parlance, that's the overflow button now, was the old menu.

Agree on the tip, that was excellent. Been using Sense 3 years and didn't know that.

I just blocked my wife!

Well, if you are thinking of buying one anyway, that could sure sweeten the deal, couldn't it?

Can't..... Wait...... Much......longer....... On Verizon. Im giving them until June 30 to divulge info or I'm going with the s4....and I'm sure they won't... I freakin hate Verizon, what is the big f'ing deal, this crap is ridiculous. It's like they are intentionally trying to hurt htc's sales.

I've tried to switch carriers but there are no contenders where I live...

Agree on the tip, that was excellent. Been using Sense 3 years and didn't know that.

Ya...the number block tip is a great tip. I never knew that option was there!

Default Verizon launch soon...

Verizon says they will be releasing their HTC One late summer. Some speculation says next month. Only 3 months behind!

Only reason I'm still with VZW is they have great coverage. But hopefully this will be my next phone.

Edit: rumor mill has it dated for July 18, but STILL nothing official.

Ok, I caved! There's not even rumours about the 64GB in the UK, plus it's my birthday, so...

... I now have a black HTC One in my pocket

Cosmetically at least it's flawless. Will give it a couple of days before rooting, just to be sure

Well, I still don't know if the One in that link was legit, but HTC just announced they ARE releasing a red version of the One. Unfortunately for US customers, it's currently only available in the UK. Will Verizon get a red variant? Only time will tell, but I suspect the answer is yes.

I had some money from my birthday, and AT&T had all smart phones 50% off. My new, black, HTC One arrived yesterday

Now I'm researching cases.

i went to the local Rat Shack again today just to touch it...and dream that maybe one day it will be available on Verizon.

But i was wondering on the way home...if they release this in july then its still pretty fresh, but at some point toward the end of july and into august this phone becomes a bit stale, even to verizon users, who may decide to wait for the 5s to come out...or maybe there is talk of a new droid even.

i think the window is closing on HTC here....verizon could care less...but this is a big rollut for HTC.

i was also thinking that i have spent most of the past 3plus years wating on HTC phones

The DNA 2 MIGHT be out this year. That's might capitalized. But chances are it'll come in the 16GB flavor.

If you are referring to the butterfly s, it will have an SD card slot.

The Butterfly whatever that VZW got and rebranded the DNA originally had an SD card slot too. I might be wrong, but don't feel like fact checking.

It looks like VZW website image. I think they just made a picture that would look current by launch. So I'm going to say early August, late July launch.
What image is on the S4 on VZW website? Does it have a date?

Default HTC One $25 Google play credit!

If you ordered/order and activate your HTC one between 6/14/13 and 7/15/13, you can recieve a $25 Google Play gift card by registering at:
HTC Google Play

HTC will then send you a confirmation code that you can redeem through the Play Store!

Some are reporting that if your One was activated earlier than 6/14/13, you will still receive a $25 credit!

Source: XDA

I tried it. We'll see if I get anything. (Bought a new One yesterday!)
