Dunno if this counts as carrier discussion but I just got the PR release that Sprint turned on its 4G LTE in Virginia Beach today. Could not be sweeter timing, aside from the coverage maps having my house about 2 seconds away from the LTE coverage haha

Hello Guys , I am planning to buy this phone, but I've got a question... I was wondering if someone knows if the 64GB SIM Unlocked version will work on Simple Mobile (since T-Mobile will get in their roster, I hope it works on simple mobile because it works On the same network)... Please let me know, I appreciate it any help

I'm hearing/reading that the Black model will only be available in 32GB, even on AT&T. WHY?!?! I preordered the silver 64GB version, but was gonna return it within 14 days if the Black version was going to come out soon. But if it's only available in 32GB (10 of which is OS) then I'm just going to keep the silver. However, I REALLY wanted the Black model. I'll still enjoy the silver version, but the Black version is SO sexy.

I hear ya on that. I went to BB all ready to get the silver One. However, BB had a black one on display. YOWSA...that thing looks so much better in the real than in pictures. I immediately decided to wait and get the black one. No word on when it will arrive. Sheesh.

I'd rather have it in black as well, but, since I just changed carriers(from SPRINT to T-MOBILE),I need a new phone anyway. It was either the ONE or the NOTE 2.

Also, seems the mfgs/carriers like to keep the product line fresh as long as possible & no better/cheaper way to do that than introduce new color options later on in the product life cycle.

Default Black HTC One

Has anyone seen one in the wild yet? I am holding off on getting one as I think I am changing carriers, from ATT to T-Mobile (that's another story).
But I have yet to see or hear of anyone having gotten one of the black ones. (I saw the you tube videos but just not in person)

Additionally neither ATT or T-Mobile say anything about the black one on their websites. Not even available to order.

Anyone, anyone .... Bueller?

I have ordered one from T-mobile but their order process is a mess. My order status estimate delivery date 26th April while underneath overnight shipping which I selected it says 23rd. Not too hopeful of getting it on the 23rd. Might end up cancelling and getting it in store on the 24th.

I don't quite understand why this story was ever written, or why it has seemingly been re-blogged by everyone and their brother in the last day or two. The Black HTC One has been on Sprint's site, labeled as Coming Soon since the pre-order date of April 5th, or before. I can't say for certain, but I suspect the same is true of the Black HTC One offered through ATT. I think it has been shown on their site for more than a week or two as well...

Yes, I have seen and held one. They had it on display at BB. I went in ready to get the silver one. When I saw that black one it was all over. Now I will wait for it. No word from BB when it would be available.

The author of the article was raked over the coals in the comment section for falling asleep at the switch on the subject. Ya gotta wonder if he'd taken an unplugged vacation,as the rest of the ANDROID community was up-to-date on the subject.

YMMV,but,I'm finally able to log-on to MY T-MOBILE.

Not sure if orders are going through, but,if my 1st bill w/them is any indication, not everything is as it should be.

GOOD LUCK,you'll probably need it..................

Thinking about finally reupping my contract with AT&T for the One, but I don't want the silver one. Any word on if/when the black model is coming to AT&T?

EDIT: I see that this question has been asked ad nauseum already, with no real answer other than it's coming soon. Sorry!

Default Black vs. Silver?

I've pretty much decided that the One will be my next phone and I'll likely be getting it within the next week or so. I was curious how many people have gotten the black version. I was set on getting it in black until I had a chance to see both...and now I'm torn! I know it pretty much comes down to preference, but I was wondering if there was any particular reason people chose one color over the other. Anyone notice if any of the build quality issues are present in one and not the other or are they same? In a way the black one almost looks "plain" to me, but I still like the feel of the phone in my hand. Decisions, decisions...

One of each would be ideal, but, this technology,in a smartphone, would reign supreme:

Now THAT would be nice. :-) Dare to dream...

I was under the impression that the black version was already out since they had it on display at BB. That's what I get for not looking into it a bit more. Guess I'll be putting off my purchase a bit longer than I thought. Grrr....

Default MULTI-COLOR ONE Anyone.....

I'm seriously gonna look around in my area for someone reputable who might be able to put an opalescent color-changing coat on mine,if it isn't crazy expensive.

The center for the arts @ the local university comes to mind,I'll report back on this after the upcoming weekend.

Default Existing Prepaid Plan

Anyone else buy the phone outright with an existing prepaid plan? If so, did your old sim card work right away? It didn't for me.

The clerk at the T-mobile store inputted my phone number into their computers but then proceed to place my old sim into the HTC One and I was on my way. When I got back to work, I realize that my phone still isn't detecting any network. Did the clerk screw up and I was supposed to use the new sim? Or was I supposed to ask him to sim unlock my phone?

Thanks.

My upgrade isn't due until December of this year, but I called At&t and they let me upgrade 8 months early. I was actually going to cancel a line and add a line back, but they just offered to upgrade early. The black one was out of stock, so I got the Silver one, I should have it tomorrow.

1. Anyone bought one for use with Tmobile yet? Where did you get it?

2. The One for Tmobile will not work with the rest of the world. This really suck.

1. You can order it directly from T-Mobile or BestBuy
2. I am not sure what you mean. Of course, none of the US Carrier versions will operate on LTE overseas but the T-mobile version should have all the phone bands covered. The following is from T-Mobile's website:

GSM bands 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
UMTS: Band I(2100)
UMTS: Band II(1900)
UMTS: Band IV(1700/2100/AAWS)
UMTS: Band V(850)
LTE Band: 4, 17

Default Will Tmobile version work on Sprint?

I currently have a sprint connection, but I'm planning to switch to Tmobile. I'm planning to pay the whole price of HTC One on Tmobile upfront.
I was just wondering that if I don't like Tmobile, then will it be possible to use the same phone on Sprint?

No. It doesn't have Sprint's CDMA bands or it's LTE band.

Thanks.
If it's a T-Mobile phone, maybe check your APN settings -

http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-1979

Otherwise a call to T-Mobile is probably in order.

Bah still no phone shipped today... guessing I was too low down in the queue with my order from HTC.com/UK. Now showing as stock expected in 4 days.

Getting frustrated by this now... Just want my damn phone that I was charged for over a month ago.

Can I get the unlock One from HTC website and it will work 100% on Tmobile?

===============

Lets say if I get a new phone from a user, it can get blacklisted from Tmobile if something bad happen to the user or he/she didnt pay the penalty for early termination?

Product Ambassador supporting the launch of the HTC One here. The black version is available for web orders, telesales, and direct ship from store reps as of today. There is no instore inventory so the rep will direct ship you one from the warehouse, either to home or store.

Inventory will be on hand at a later time. So order up if you want it in black.

Enjoy!!!

Yep, it can get blacklisted for that.

Don't know about the other. If you mean the dev phone, best check in our other thread for that.

Just checked Newegg again. With a Sprint upgrade it is $129.99, and you get a $20 Visa card. Doesn't look like black is available though.

Default Deals, Discounts, reduced prices?

My upgrade through att won't be available until june 1. not too far away. I know that fathers day is shortly after that and there might be some killer deals. until then, do you guys know of any good prices for people who might be looking now? I think i heard something about amazon wireless selling it for $50 off if you're upgrading or a new contract?

Just picked up the ONE phone to rule them all....
I thought I would let you guys know that Sprint has a promo going with credit unions right now where they will appy a $100 credit to you bill and take 10% off of your monthly base charge. In addition, porting your number over from a competitor will also net you another $100 savings. I basically got the phone for free

That's odd. I got something in the mail from my credit union and called Sprint on it. It does save 10% as well as waiving the activation fee but they said nothing about $100 credit. Is this for a new line or upgrade of an existing line?

Edit: I called sprint sales today. They had no info on the $100.00 credit, normal price of $199.99 is what they told me

I saw the One at Costco for $160. The guy said it comes with two screen protectors, a case, a car charger and a home charger.

There's this link as well (from xda):

Default Buying from AT&T Off Contract

Has anyone been able to buy from AT&T off contract (or been turned away trying to do so)? I want to do this in-store but have heard of AT&T refusing to sell other newly released devices off contract. Thanks.

If you want to buy at full retail, you could buy the sim unlocked or developer edition from HTC directly for about the same more or less.

Default Re: Buying the HTC ONE Off-Contract From/For AT&T

Although a little more expensive, looks like you can get it from BEST BUY off-contract.

HTC - One 4G Mobile Phone - Silver (AT&T) - PN07120

Utilize their trade-in program w/an unneeded phone,or,any electronic device you no longer need/want to offset the added expense & you should be good to go.

a Sprint store did me the same way, I preordered the HTC One and when it was released when I came to pick it up they didnt wanna sell it to me, I went to the corporate Sprint store and they sold me one with no problem.

Can I report that Sprint store that had me pre order and didnt wanna sell me the phone when it was time to pick it up? The manager there was rude and they were laughing at me. I really wanna report them, do I have a legit complaint anyone? I got the manager name also.

Has anyone taken advantage of the costco deal? I'm thinking about it, but it said something about getting a $30 data plan, even after I clicked the "Keep my current plan" radio button. I already have a data plan, so I don't want to screw with anything I already have.

The Sprint store you preordered from wasn't a corporate store?
