I meant to ask, sorry, I'll check back. We just used the music players.

The JBL Flip is a single cylinder about 6" long and maybe 3" diameter, they had it laying sideways. Simple button on one end, push it, turn on bluetooth on your phone, click JBL Flip that pops up - bingo, it's paired and playing.

I've never used bluetooth or 4g or any of the new awesome technology that I willbe taking advantage of once I get The One. This could be useful for my classroom after my kids leave and I am stuck at work grading papers!

reading up on the jbl flip, it seems to be stereo so you only need one.

the set i have (disco twin) comes as a pair. the pair I have is portable but you may not want to take these everywhere. the jbl gadget looks to slip easily in your girls purse..

the disco twin is amazing though around the house. i put one in the bathroom when im taking a shower and the other one is in the living room.. they have great range.

i may end up picking this jbl gadget... good heads up EM!

FWIW,I have one each of these:

Philips - docking speaker with Bluetooth® for Android - AS140/37 - Docking Speakers - Home audio - Sound and vision

Philips - docking speaker with Bluetooth® for Android - AS351/37 - Docking Speakers - Home audio - Sound and vision

Regarding your prior question about playback, you should be able to stream any audio from your phone to the JBL speakers or,any BLUETOOTH speakers for that matter.

While the ones listed above have accompanying apps from the manufacturer in the GOOGLE PLAY STORE,they aren't necessary for playback of any media of your choosing.

I've used the PHILIPS speakers listed above for GOOGLE MUSIC,PANDORA,TUNE-IN,iHEART,etc...... w/no issues @all & suspect you should be able to replicate this w/the JBL speakers.

With those docking stations, does it need to be plugged into the docking station to play the music or can it be across the room and stream to the speakers? Does it automatically play over the speakers when you plug it into the dock if bluetooth is off?

You'll dig it.

It was in the middle of a display of like products, and as soon as she turned it on, I pointed and said, ok that's the subwoofer are these other four things the satellites? I was way surprised. Expected "little speaker" compression as she cranked it up - none of that until it was _really_ cranking.

This bad banana is definitely portable.

You can stream wirelessly, the docking is optional/convenience of de-cluttering your nightstand/table,etc. of one less plug-in device(charger).

You can choose to play via B/T through the dock or use the phones speaker(s) while docked.

No,it is not able to playback through the speaker dock, while docked,if BLUETOOTH is turned off on the phone.

However,if you desire, you'll still be able to have a B/T earpiece & the dock connected simultaneously to the phone, operating independently ,w/the earpiece for phone audio & the dock for media audio.

One final note on the B/T speakers:

For pure performance, I'd recommend the JBL Speakers that EM listed. The PHILIPS speakers that I listed are OK, but, probably no match for the JBL's & definitely not as portable-friendly.

Here's a wired solution that I used to recommend often -

http://www.amazon.com/X-Mini-XAM4-B-Mono-Capsule-Speaker/dp/B001UEBN42

Notice how you can daisy chain them.

They're little spheres until you pop them open.

Default [Video Review] HTC One Double Dip Flip + Double Dip Hard Shell Review

Double Dip Flip Case Review

A lot of people overlooked the fact that the cover does come down over time. If you don't wanna wait you can just put the phone face down overnight.

Double Dip Hard Shell Review

Nice case but you could easily scratch your phone taking the One in and out of the case.

I'll be picking up an HTC One once it hits the USA so I'll do another more indepth review once I get it. Importing is just way too expensive...

I ordered the same day, package still showing as in transit. I'll give it a few more days, til the end of the week or so, before I call/email them.

They (*******) were quick to respond to my earlier queries regarding a tracking number, so I'm good w/that. Besides, I've still got about 30 days of PAYPAL protection regarding a refund should the package end up being lost, etc......

Got my transparent case today from the ******* link provided previous. (Just over 2 weeks delivery)

It's a bit thicker than other snap fit type cases i've had before, fits well, nice and clear so doesn't hide any of the phone, sits pretty flush with the screen, so a flat drop would probably risk screen damage (although my phone is fitted with the skins talked about elsewhere as well, so case may protrude further without them on).

I'm happy with the skins on mine, so this will be used as extra protection when needed for work or fishing or something.

So, it's a hard plastic case & not TPU?
Guess I'll keep this one when it arrives, but, now I'm off to find a TPU clear case. I prefer it for the feel in-hand vs. hard plastic cases.

Yes, plastic, so very smooth, no texture at all.

I think i have all bases covered with mine now.....the official flip case if i want to watch movies at work, skins on for general use and this clear case if i want a bit extra protection while out and about......seems quite easy to get caught up in searching for the perfect case and end up with loads of crap collecting dust.

I've searched for different ones, but thus far, I'm still liking the Atmosphere, by Poetic. It's a PC/TPU combo with a transparent back and colored sides. I know I posted it before, but I still can't find one I like better.

I'm probably going to pick one of these up as well. I am worried about the grainy look of the plastic in the pictures of the case by itself. I'm getting a silver One and don't want the look of the back to be grainy.

By the way, toad, you can get those poetic cases on amazon for 10 dollars and free shipping..

By the way, toad, you can get those poetic cases on amazon for 10 dollars and free shipping..

Amazon.com: Poetic Atmosphere Case for HTC One M7 Clear/Orange(3 Year Manufacturer Warranty From Poetic): Cell Phones & Accessories

Just trying to save you some money, brother
I think the "grain" is texture. At first I just thought it was the pics themselves, but if you look at just the case itself, on Poetics site, you CAN see a bit of grain. I don't think it a deal breaker for me. It still shows the phone in almost all its glory, which is better than covering the whole thing up with some of the other cases I've seen. Rest assured, the BEST one will come out AFTER I've opened the package for whichever one I decide on buying!!!

Oh and thanks for reminding me about the Amazon deal. I had completely forgot about it!

Guess I'll keep this one when it arrives, but, now I'm off to find a TPU clear case. I prefer it for the feel in-hand vs. hard plastic cases.
This one looks great.

Default METAL-SLIM ULTRA-THIN Transparent Case

Metal-Slim Ultra-thin Transparent Case For HTC ONE M7

It's a bit thicker than other snap fit type cases i've had before, fits well, nice and clear so doesn't hide any of the phone, sits pretty flush with the screen, so a flat drop would probably risk screen damage (although my phone is fitted with the skins talked about elsewhere as well, so case may protrude further without them on).

I'm happy with the skins on mine, so this will be used as extra protection when needed for work or fishing or something.

Otterbox is doing their usual Commuter/Defender. The Defender in the picture looks like just a hard case though, no silicone outer jacket. Weird...
Ballistic Case is releasing a SG case and the SG Maxx for those that want a belt holster. The SG has always been my favorite case. I've never used the MAXX but it looks promising.
Nothing over at Trident Case yet.
Seidio looks like they're getting things ready but nothing official yet. Let's hope they make an extended battery and matching case.

I've tried a few cases now as there are times when I am out at work and need to have the phone with more protection than just a screen protector.

HTC Double Dip Flip case. My phone doesn't sit in it correctly and won't 'snap in' at the corners. This renders the case useless as the phone could fall out.

HTC Double Dip case with the red top and black bottom bars. This really doesn't play very well with my screen protector as it pushed it up at the corners. Coupled with the fact that it is hard to put on and take off and will doubtless scratch the phone with constant removal. A shame as it is quite compact.

TPU 'gel' cases. Neither of the TPU cases I have have afforded me access to the power button. Both of them make it so that you really have to force the button down to turn on or off your device. These cases are about as useful as a chocolate ashtray on a motorbike because you just can't turn the phone on or off without pushing hard.

My favourite case for my iPhone was a Speck Candyshell and I am glad to see they are bringing one out for the HTC One. It's not available in the UK yet so I may just end up buying this from the USA instead.

EDIT: Not at almost 65 USD form the Speck website I won't! I'll wait for it to come to these shores.

This may prove to be a workable solution for those that need more than the on-board storage capacity of the ONE:

That looks ideal, i'll be keeping an eye on that, may have to take advantage of "American friends" to get one though.

Ok, thanks, i see the options now, international shipping included if i make the $12 donation.....anybody used this sort of scheme before?

Looks like a great little gadget to store stuff on, and really small.

Edit: Then again, for 12 bucks i guess it's worth a punt.

1st time I've participated in KICKSTARTER, but, some other well known projects have evolved from such crowd-sourcing, namely the ANDROID-Powered OUYA gaming console which is set for public release soon.

Hi everyone, expecting my HTC one this week I use my current galaxy all the time as a sat nav in the van. I really like the look of the car dock and the feature to turn on car mode when the phone is connected. However as I'm in the building trade I need to use a case and this means taking it off every time I get in the van. I read you can get a cable which activates the car mode when it's plugged in ? Therefore I could use my old holder and keep the case on ? Anyone know about this ? Also when it switches on car mode does it turn on Bluetooth as I use a parrot hands free ? Would this be the best solution .
Thanks

The Kidigi car dock (when released) allows the phone to fit with a case on.

Little known fun fact - in the HTC Car application, tapping the connection icons at the bottom brings up settings for those.

Auto-connecting to known Bluetooth devices is one of the options.

If you have any trouble with compatibility with cables or holders that work for you, consider putting an NFC tag in your vehicle. Program it (not difficult) to switch you to car mode.

I'm in on the Mini Micro SD reader project linked to a few days ago (Thanks Kolio), pity it won't be built in an Aluminium case.

I know it isn't tested on the One yet, but does anyone see any reason why i wouldn't work on the One?

Just took a close look at this,to compare to this:

Metal-Slim Ultra-thin Transparent Case For HTC ONE M7

While they have different SKU's,they appear to be the same, except in two important areas:

1) PRICE:the latter is 3x as expensive as the former

2) The product description in this one :

Ultra Thin Clear Hard Case Cover for HTC ONE M7

Shows photos of the HTC ONE but, product description describes a perfect fit for a SONY model.

The ONE supports OTG so this should work.

I have an OTG adapter that will work for the ONE already (its for my moto xoom) and as I mentioned earlier in this thread you can pick up an adapter right now from amazon and/or fleabay for pennies. These adapters have been out for a long time so the cost is quite low. With an OTG adapter, you can attach more than just a memcard so it may be worth it anyway just to grab one..
