Default HTC ONE DOCK by EZO

Found this one on e-Bay yesterday, appears to be the same one that others have purchased from other sources w/only the brand name being different:

EZOPower Sync Cradle Dock Charger w Detachable Case Plate for New HTC One M7 | eBay

& this one from e-Bay as well:

Desktop USB Sync Data Dock Charge Charging Cradle Charger for HTC One M7 New | eBay

The apparent lack of a removable adapter plate to accommodate a case made this one a no-go,went w/the 1st option listed.

Look in the classifieds section, there was someone who was making/selling a modular charging/syncing dock.Looked really nice & solid.I believe there was a YOU-TUBE video as well.

This was only about six months ago, shouldn't take too long to locate it.

I'd look for it,but,I've got non-forum items to tend to,be back later this evening.

How about a decent priced car charger that will charge at AC rather then USB?

Not following you.

In my wife's hybrid, we just use a house charger in the AC socket...

Yeah problem is I use a mounttek and don't want the cord running from under my armrest/console by my shifter and up infrontbof the CD player.

Some car chargers charge at .5A (usb) like if you charged your phone off your computer.

Others charge at 1A like being plugged into a wall socket and charge the phone at a much faster rate.

Basically want a fast charger (cigerette lighter) with a "slinky" type cable..

I remember buying one for my gnex but it crapped out, just wondering if anyone had any good suggestions.

Gotcha.

Ok, for _all_ accessories like that there is one and only one place to go - Monoprice.com

For only $4.05 each when QTY 50+ purchased - 1 Port USB Car Charger 2.1A - Black

Buy the usb cable you need separately - and if they don't have it, it's either not made or going to be hard to find. (The Samsung cable was ultra-thin and slinky, but only available as a shorty.)

Low prices, high quality stuff, the darling site for HD fans.

This isn't the one that was posted here @ A/F,but,the idea was the same,a modular design,to accommodate just about any device:

TurboFrog™ Aluminum Dock - USB, Charge and Sync, 30-pin iPhone/iPod and Android Compatible at TigerDirect.com

If not for purchasing a dock yesterday,I might have opted for this.Perhaps for my next phone (& all thereafter) ........

i just ordered this case

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C5OKR3E/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

its a cheap rubber case. the case isn't a great fit but i don't see myself using a case much anyways. will probably only snap it on when im at the airport. it adds a bit of bulk. i also don't like cases that wrap a little over the front but i couldnt find any that didnt.

I'm looking for something like Samsung OEM 700mAh Micro-USB Car Charger for Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300, Samsung Galaxy Note 2 II/ Note N7000, Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500, Samsung Galaxy S2, Galaxy S2 Skyrocket - (Bulk Packaging):Amazon:Electronics

But I want to be sure it'll charge at a fast rate as we all know how slow this phone can charge

Default Beats Earphones for HTC ONE?

So I wanted to buy a pair of nice silver or white earphones, or earbuds as some call them, and can't find ones that are able to adjust the volume?

The urbeats headphones are pretty much made for the iPhone...(dumb IMO) the volume control should deff work with any HTC phone since hello HTC owns beats anyway.

So I ended up buying a pair that are specifically made for HTC phones and theres no dedicated volume keys on them, just a forward and back for tracks and a play pause...which doesn't do me any good while working out and listening to Sirius radio and I have to keep taking my phone out to adjust the volume.

Then there's the HTC branded earphones on the HTC site with no link to order?

Anyone find beats or HTC earphones where you can adjust the volume?

Have you tried using this app to see if you can modify the buttons?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=se.jays.headsetcontrol&hl=en
I've used it with the Apple Earpods and it works well to enable the buttons to work since they don't by default.

Thanks for the reply...

I kind of want to use a pair of headphones that work stock with the phone. I can't believe there's no beats that work with this phone as far as volume controls go?

My Clarivue screen protector bubbled up and didn't get put on good by my boyfriend and I had always wanted to try Steinheil so I bought another pack and I really like theirs. It got put on just right and I am very happy with it. Still wishing a car dock would come out that puts phone in docking mode specifically for this phone. I know there's universal ones and I can just open my car dock app and plug in charger but I don't really want that.

Ok...I know I am probability 'Old Skool', but I like to carry my phone in a holster.

Has anyone found a holster for the HTC One that fits with an Otterbox Commuter case on it?

Yeah I have some NFC Tags haven't reconfigured them for this phone guess I should... I am probably going to get the universal dock from Sprint. I altered my old dock and unscrewed it took out the charging port but my Otterbox Commuter it still doesn't fit right it's a little lopsided but for now I am using it anyway one side fits in the other doesn't quite fit.

So my phone with the Otterbox Commuter case on fits in this leather pouch holster? I need to get one. Wish there was other colors besides black but you can't beat that price. My boyfriend has the Defender it probably won't fit or i'd get him one too but his came with a holster. So is it easy to get phone in and out with the Otterbox on? I wish it showed a pick of the back of the case. But I need something like that so I don't just throw my phone in my purse or when I have too small of a purse I can clip it on.

Anyone remember the pouch the Nexus One came in?
I still have my N1 and the pouch

But...
have a look at these:
Smartphone Suede Jacket Cases - SFBags - WaterField Designs

I saw a review of it here:
Featured Review: Suede Jacket for the Nexus 4 from WaterField Designs | Android News - AndroidHeadlines.com
Yes, N4 review but they have one that fits our phones too.

I may get one of these...

The best case for the One or any other phone for that matter is a beautiful case from New Zealand. Best for looks, safety and quality, wear and everything else. Check out Smartphone Protection - In a Nutshell

Also comes w/a screen protector, sized to fit properly when paired w/the case,to avoid edge peeling & consequent bubbling,etc....

For $9.99,hard to beat for quality & overall value.

Here's a video I found on YOU-TUBE to get a better idea of what to expect. There is a mention of a slight cosmetic flaw in the case, which you'd be hard-pressed to find if not mentioned.
However,on my case the flaw is NOT present,as the flaw in the molding process was apparently addressed after the video was made**:

Review of the Hyperion TPU case for the HTC One - YouTube

This one is from DIZTRONIC,but, gives a great representation of the coloring of the one I got from HYPERION.

Diztronic TPU Case Review for HTC One Review (Gray) - YouTube

The hint on installation from this video may seem like a no-brainer,but,it does make a difference in fit.
I actually found that inserting the top side of the phone first, then bottom,to be followed by the sides, makes for the best fit,w/no pulling around the cut-outs that one typically finds w/TPU cases.

*Five days total from order date, direct from HYPERION,to delivery, free via USPS option.EXCELLENT!

** Upon further review, there is a SMALL remnant of the molding process.I say remnant (call it a BIRTHMARK,if you will) & NOT a defect, because it's either a result of an ejector pin/lifter,to facilitate removal of the case from the mold,or,what is called a gate/runner,where the plastic enters the mold.

Could it be avoided?YES,but,no doubt tooling/manufacturing costs were considered in the risk/reward of a better design to eliminate all cosmetic imperfections, resulting in a vastly more expensive product.

The location of this small mark (see video #1) is in such a place that one won't notice during use, less the most extreme perfectionists, & in no way detracts from the functionality of the case.

For those that favor a TPU case,I stand behind my original statement & consider this case + screen protector a SLAM-DUNK!

Wonder how much protection Diztronic case gives the phone in a drop. I have one and like it a lot but you always wonder. It's quite thin.

The TPU case. Fits beautifully as you know. Looks great. But I am a bit concerned about how well it can protect. We need some public minded person to put one on, toss the phone up in the air a half dozen or so times and film everything.

this review says the dimensions are (9,7 x 4,2 x 2,2) I am assuming centimeters. Smaller than the phone, looks promising.

So, I really hate cases... but for the price this phone costs I do want to protect it. I was thinking a Zagg invisishield full body.... but there are others too, iSkin and Ghost Skin... Also, otter box makes one (yet I saw a youtube video where someone punched a pen right through it).

How touch is the case? Does it scratch easily? How about the gorilla glass, is it as tough as corning would tell us?

Zagg screen protector is the way to go. Sprint threw in a pack of Fellow's screen protectors with my purchase. There were 3 in the pack, and I've already gone through 2 of them. I had a Zagg on my EVO and it works as good if not better than you'd want.

IMO, I would just get the screen protector though. The full-body shield isn't going to do anything against drops. No case really will outside of an otterbox.

As for the toughness of GORILLA GLASS,I'd say yes,it's tough/durable & highly scratch resistant. My previous 2 phones + this ONE w/GORILLA GLASS have held up well w/o a flaw to be found.W/that said,it's not bullet-proof,w/dirt & grit being the most likely of culprits to cause scratching over a period of time.

Shatter-proof,definitely not.Shatter resistant, yes, however,YMMV as no two user experiences are replicable in this scenario.

If you're prone to dropping your phone or exposure to grit/dirt is the status quo,at minimum get a screen protector & a TPU case, which there are plenty to choose from, right here in this very thread,or,venture to AMAZON or e-Bay for an even larger selection.

Of course a skin won't provide the protection that an OTTERBOX provides, however,a body skin will/should at minimum protect against surface marring & provide a minimal amount of shock absorption. It also provides for a firmer grip, which may prevent such drops from occurring.

I imagine this is why you're torn (directly from ZAGG's WEBSITE):

Scratch Proof
The precision pre-cut invisibleSHIELD applies directly to your HTC One, providing the toughest, most durable protection you will find. The invisibleSHIELD has its origins in the military, where it was used to protect high-speed helicopter blades from dust, dirt and debris.
Now you can use that same powerful technology to protect your HTC One. It is so tough that we back it with a lifetime guarantee. So, if it ever does wear or scratch, we will replace it for free, for the life of your device. And if you ever need to remove the invisibleSHIELD, no problem; it comes off clean and leaves no sticky residue.

NICE but........

Nano-Memory Technology
The authentic invisibleSHIELD film features Nano-Memory technology, which is visible as a very subtle texture in the surface of the film.

^^^^^
Perhaps not so desirable, however,it does provide a great amount of protection,no argument there:

This superior component of the invisibleSHIELD offers four main competitive benefits:
Durability - Self-healing properties offer unbelievable resistance to scratches and damage, and will extend the life of your device
Coverage - Greater pliability and flexibility allows the invisibleSHIELD designs to cover the corners and curves of your device better than the competition.
Ease of Install - The improved pliability also facilitates easier installation
Drop Resistant - Improved grip makes it easier to hang onto your expensive gadgets
Glare Reduction - The invisibleSHIELD gives your device a slight "orange peel" finish that breaks up glare and reduces finger print smudges, while still creating high resolution screen viewing clarity.

If you're still wanting the protection of a body skin, but, something that's not as thick/textured,etc...,there's lots of body skin options available:

Amazon.com: Skinomi TechSkin - HTC One M7 Screen Protector Ultra Clear Shield + Full Body Protective Skin + Lifetime Warranty: Cell Phones & Accessories

HTC ONE M7 Screen Protector

Yeah sometimes it feels okay like when it's nice and cool but, heat from use/hand heat starts feeling not so smooth. But I'm torn because without the shield for me it slips out my hand pretty easy haha luckily it only happened while I was in bed so it dropped to soft blankets. Meh I can deal with it I will probably leave it on, although I will check out those other shields as well. Thanks!!

I'm looking for a case or possible accessory that can help with the ease of use with the One power button. Maybe I just need to exert some extended effort to retrain my brain, but I'm finding it very difficult to get used to the placement, lack of reference (the button is flush or sunk), and action (or lack there-of) when compared to prior HTC devices I'm familiar with. I'll get used to it, but I'd like to assist it.
Once I root I could re-map the function to the volume key, but I hate side power buttons (Note 2) and the One volume keys don't feel much better than the power button to me.

I'm not sure that I care if the IR blaster is blocked or impeded since it is a feature I don't believe I'll use. (I know this is probably opposite of what is being brought to market or what people are looking for )

I don't like cases, so it would need to be extremely low profile and possibly clear. A silicone case might be alright, I've had one in the past that increased the tactile use and feeling of the power button which was very helpful.

Or possibly there is a power button key out there? Something like this for the Galaxy Note 2 Home button?

I bought and use this one:
Amazon.com: i-Blason SoftGel Flexible TPU Case for HTC One Smart Phone (M7, 2013 Release with 4.7 Inch Display 1080P) - Frost Clear: Cell Phones & Accessories

It covers the power button and the volume buttons with raised areas that make pressing them as easy as any other phone. My finger finds the power button every time. Highly functional, very slim, good fit, and clear. I highly recommend. And it is only 10 bucks.

As always thanks Sik, looks very good. I know you wouldn't steer me wrong, but how clear are we talking? I have the Black HTC One and anything short of transparent I imagine will be very apparent on the device.
I'm still open to any non case ideas too

Ahhh you have the Black One. The back of this case is frosted rather than transparent which is not noticeable on the Silver but perhaps would be on the Black. Still worth a try though for the power button functionality.

Check this TPU case out, looks to be quite transparent, even though the description states that it is frosted/clear:

Semi Frost Clear Hard TPU Gel Skin Case Cover for HTC One 2013 M7 Accessory | eBay

And one from AMAZON that claims to be transparent & clear:

Amazon.com: Transparent Clear Tpu Skin Soft Cover Case for Htc One M7 by ApexGears: Cell Phones & Accessories

The level of transparency is difficult at best to judge w/a TPU case, less buying it in-person.

Please keep us posted on what you choose & how well it looks w/your phone.

Try Gravity Screen Off from the Playstore. Turns off the screen when you lay the phone down or put it in your pocket and turns it on when you pick it up. Works instantly. I haven't touched the power button in a week.
