hello.

theres many different makes and modles of cars, more info is needed if you are asking for help here.

make/model of car? year?

are you rooted?

what version of Android are you running?

what carrier?

how long have you had this issue? since day one of using the phone or did it just popup recently?

on your prior phone, if android, did this issue occur?

did you un pair and re-pair the phone to the car? what are your settings in the bluetooth field on the phone???

Default Update to Android 4.3 Breaks contact transfer to car

Hi,

I have found since upgrading to Android 4.3 when I connect the phone to the car via bluetooth contacts do not get transferred correctly.

If I restart the phone and then connect it looks like I get all the contacts get transferred but the all show the "type" suffix e.g. /W /H /M. If I disconnect the phone and reconnect it the contact name/numbers are combined such that the icon for the type is correct for each name. But on doing this a lot of the contacts are no longer in the list.

The phone used to work OK with the car on the previous version of Android.

What has been done in this version to break what was working functionality?

Any info/help appreciated.

i have a one max and 4.3. stock not rooted.

i have not had any issues. i am well aware these are different devices and carriers, still i just wanted to help verify that my contacts and setting in my car were not damaged in regards to this update.

you are limited in what you can do:

un pair from car. remove all contacts from prior pairing. re-pair. attempt to re-add

contact your car maker and ask them what BT stack they use and/go to their website to see if they list compatible os and devices

factory reset

if none of the above work,

go to the shop where you purchased. have them smoke it over

send it in to htc for repair.

Mine also is a stock not rooted phone.

Done factory reset - what a disaster in itself took over a week to restore apps and settings that the backup I took before doing a reset failed to restore. (that is both with htc sync manager and the backup option on the phone)

Re-paired with the car both with/without removing contacts

Why should I go to the manufacturer it is Android that broke the functionality it worked fine on 4.2.

You don't have to do anything. I'm just offering help over the Internet.

HTC test's the software and implements it . they are responsible for any issues or bugs in the software.

If you've exhausted all your options, submit a trouble ticket with HTC.

You are also welcome to root your device to open it up to more options over the stock configuration.

Alerting your car maker may also help.

It's not an Android issue, as I've had devices running with my Volkswagen Jetta's bluetooth with these Android versions: 2.3.6, 4.0.4, 4.1.2, 4.2.2, 4.3, and 4.4.2. Works just fine. Not saying your device isn't defective (my HTC One is running Android 4.4.2), but I don't think the problem is Android 4.2 or newer.

Sad Audio streaming with car head unit

Hi there, I have had problems with the phone and audio streaming since new, initially I thought it was the combo of my stereo and phone, but I have just upgraded the stereo and I'm suffering even worse now.

I now have a Kenwood BT73DAB and the official D160 car kit.

When I dock the phone and connect to the stereo all is well.

When I pull the phone from the dock, the music stops. I have disabled the car mode (switch to big buttons) but I cannot find any option to disable the "stop the music" feature. When I plug the phone back into the dock, there is a significant delay (several minutes sometimes) of the stereo buttons, including the play button.

The only option I seem to have is to restart bluetooth on the phone, which fixes things for the most part.

I have heard that the beats audio can disable streaming of internet services, but this does not seem to affect anything here.

Is there something I can push to make the phone behave?

Question Bluetooth issue in car

I recently updated from S3 to the HTC One. My s3 had become really sluggish and I am generally very happy with the upgrade.

One issue I have is that the Bluetooth connection in my car, doing the same driving routes and calling the same numbers as with the S3, has been significantly worse so far.

It's close to unusable in fact. People complain of an echo when I call them using bluetooth in the car. As soon as I turn off bluetooth and switch to the phone itself on the same call the echo goes.

I have one of those see through gel covers made for the HTC One.

Is there any known issues with Bluetooth or is there anything I can do?

Thanks, Tom.

Default Can't hear caller

I recently put a Pioneer deh-x6600bt in my Jeep Commander and everything works but the Bluetooth for phone calls. I can get the Google Play to work just fine. I can't hear the caller, but they can hear me. I have unpaired both devices and paired them again. It also did the same thing for my husbands HTC EVO LTE. Any Suggestions on what to try?

Hi all

I've recently got a Ford Focus Titanium 2013 model and have paired the HTC ONE up all fine. Only thing which it won't do is read my text messages out. How can I get it to do this? I have message access turned on in the advanced bluetooth settings.

Many Thanks.

Default HTC one does not connect with RNS 510 premium bluetooth in Passat 3c

Dear All,

is there anybody which can help in finding a solution to this big problem which consists in geting connected the premium Bluetooth installed in a RNS 510 (passat3c year 2009) with my HTC one m7????
I have tried more or less everything: i rooted the phone, installed different apps (as Bluetooth phonebook, rsap trial and so on) but at the end the result is the same (nevertheless it seems that every time it has improvements and by improvements I mean that the procedure gets some steps further).

The two get connected and paired, i can input the 16 digit code and than it says please wait until connection is finalized but is never finalized....it stays like that forever......

i never should have changed from my BB bold 9900..it was connecting flawlessly....

is there a solution to that?

thanx a lot in advance

Whit72,

Standard questions :

Are you rooted
What carrier
What's the latest firmware that's on your device?

How do you know your device is fully compatible with your system?
Does Hyundai list the device as fully compatible on their website?

Not rooted, but Iwould if that would solve the problem.

Kitkat

My phone is compatible I can use the phone, stream music, text massage.

My question was mirroring, I want to mirror my phone display to my head unit in my car.

To useapps on my phone such as waze Google maps, and video playback basically I want the display from my phone to display on my touch screen in my car.

Hi,

I understand your question, however your issue is whether the head unit has the proper protocols in place to allow full mirroring from your device.

This is why I asked if your device is on the compatibility list at the Hyundai website. Usually car makers have such lists on their site.

Have you contacted the Hyundai customer service line?

That car is unique so it's possible not many htc one users have such a vehicle.

Perhaps asking your question in the lounge forum may get more eyes on your question and someone who doesn't frequent this subforum the may see it there.

Thanks I will contact them, never thought about that. I've been searching for some apps, with no luck. The veloster does come with a 3.5mm to male rca plug along with a 110v inverter to hook up an Xbox or PlayStation, or DVD but I have yet to begin exploring that option as of yet.

Exclamation Bluetooth audio connection must be done via HTC car app to prevent damage to car audio system

I just found out that the HTC One Bluetooth audio connection (A2DP) plays with a very different volume depending on whether the "HTC car" app is active or not.

For six months I have been playing music daily in my car using HTC One (media app: Qobuz) as source and Bluetooth as connection. The source volume was very low, so that I had to keep the audio car audio system near maximum level. Eventually, this abnormal use of my car audio system destroyed it: I had to replace the receiver, and may have to replace the speakers to.

Only this morning, after six months, I found out that when launching the media app from within the "HTC car" app, the output volume is much louder, and I can set the receiver's volume at a normal level.

I guess HTC does this to prevent ear damage when the One is connected to a Bluetooth headset. Great, but they should mention it in the HTC One user instructions, or at least on their website! It destroyed my car audio system!!
