I sent the info the HTC in their contact us option.

I have not tried other apps, I will give that a try later.

I turned off the BlueTooth and same results, tried disabling Bluetooth Share, rebooted, factory reset (ect)

I just got the phone last Friday (5 days ago) (brand spanking new) and updated it right away without knowing 4.3 just came out...

Question : does this happen on wifi /cellular?

First time I've used the fm app on this device and I've had this phone sibc the launch.

It's been playing close to half an hour and no force closes as yet.

I'm sprint, stock, non rooted running 4.3 currently on wifi and 4.3

EDIT: played a solid hour, changing stations and no FC or BT errors...

Has anyone else notice that they're not receiving notifications when a new text/sms message arrives? The default Messaging app doesn't give me a notification, I have to manually open the app up to see if I received a new text message.

Yet, in third party SMS apps (such as Chomp or Textra), they were perfectly fine.

Thoughts?

Hi!

Just updated and notice that "lock screen style" is missing from settings. Is it now impossible to disable the lock screen?

Default 4.3 with Sense 5.5 is out in Europe

Just update last night.
Camera dark/red problem not solved.

I have a feeling that the signal strength is low, as mentioned by some of the US 4.3 update.
It is ~-100dBm.

Any fixes for this? I see that many others are having a similar issue after upgrading.
Are you having any actual slowdowns? Have you noticed any signal issues besides the bar count being lower? Run a speed test and see what results you get. Check the dBm signal strength. Do you get any dropped calls? The more info you provide the more likely someone will be able to help.

No dropped calls or lower call quality, and it looks and feels to be the same speed (a bit faster really)

Signal strength
RSRP(dBm) : -107 RSRQ(dB) : -12
it dabbles anywhere from 106 to 108 just sitting on my desk at work

another issue is that it switches haphazardly between HSPA Edge 3g and LTE whereas before the update it rarely left LTE

Echoing others' concerns in regards to bluetooth.. For me, if I answer a call with my BT headset it answers but then switches to phone audio (nothing coming thru on headset). Then if I make a call with the headset in I get to hear one ring and then it switches to phone audio. In both cases the phone still shows the Bluetooth icon in-call.

For A2DP, I've always had the crackling problem but it is much worse now than before

Anyone else?

European unlocked Htc One, updated to 4.3, Sense 5.5.
The most terrible thing for me is that there is no more T9 (phone) keyboard!!!
Anyone using T9 on HTC and how did youfind workaround in Sense 5.5?

Thanks.

Okay guys i need some help. I am on AT&T network in the US. I updated to 4.3 right after it came out ( first of the month ? ) Ever since then I have had 2 issues ( that I have found ) both pertainging to texting.

1) When I send or am about to recieve a text, a green or orange, or green and orange symbol ( not sure what it is ) flashes up on my notification bar, just briefly, so fast I cant even get a screen shot of what it is, but my friend who also has AT&T and also updated, his phone does not do this flash thing when sending or recieveing texts. Anyone know what it is, or what app bloatware AT&T installed.

2) Also after the update some texts do not send, they have the little clock/note thing next to them and wont send, until I restart my phone, then it sends whatever text right away. I can be texting back and forth and 1 lone message does not go through but other do. Anyone else having issues with that?

I did have an issue with my battery when I first did the update. I emailed HTC and they claimed they were not aware of the issue, but seeing many posts about it. I turned off the percentage use and it actually seems to help, or I dont notice it draining so quick. I have my settings on the lowest possible brightness, dont leave bluetooth or wifi on when I dont need it, not sure what the issue was but HTC was really no help.

Except there shouldn't be any green in it, just red. Whenever audio comes out of the speakers, it lights up. I don't recall ever seeing it with text notifications though. Do you use the stock messaging app, or something like Handcent?

Also not sure about the sending. I mean, I have had that happen on Sprint, both with my HTC One and my old Evo3D. Usually it was just once in a while, and generally happened if I was in a poor connection area.

For me the battery life has actually improved considerably.

I contacted HTC and they sent me the following fix, sorry to say it didn't work for me, let me know if it works for anyone:

First of all, please erase any system errors and delete all temporary files from the cache and RAM by performing a soft reset. Please do the following: press and hold the Power key for a couple of seconds, you will see a small chart with three options; please select “Restart Phone”

Also, I will like to recommend you to perform a wipe cache. This will not remove any personal data on the phone but will delete any temporary files that may be causing an issue, in case of corruption after the update. Make sure that Fastboot is not checked, in order for you to see this information, please go to Settings>Power>Fastboot

To clear the cache partition follow the steps below:

1. Power the phone off.
2. Press and Hold Volume Down then briefly press Power to turn the phone on. Do not release Volume Down until the phone boots a white screen with three images of the Android mascot.
3. Use the volume keys to highlight Recovery and press Power to select. Screen will load to an image of a red triangle with an exclamation point.
4. Press Volume Up and down and Power at the same time to show the Recovery Menu.
5. Use volume keys to highlight “wipe cache partition” then press Power to select. This may take approximately 30 seconds depending on the amount of information it has to go through.
6. When done, highlight the option to reboot/restart phone and again press Power to select.

Then, I will recommend you to clear the data and cache of the message application. From home screen>settings>apps>all>messages>clear data and clear cache.

Please let me know how did it go. I will be waiting for your response.

The way I got the contact photos fixed in the Messages app was to re-link the contacts to their social network accounts. Haven't had a problem since.

Default T-Mobile HTC One

Is there any manual way of getting Sense 5.5 on a T-Mobile HTC One? I got the 4.3 update when it came out...but seem to be stuck on 5.0 still. I'm mainly interested in this to remove blink feed. Or are there some good work arounds that will not affect phone performance?

Thanks

Sense 5.5 only comes with 4.4. You could possibly find a hybrid Rom and root your phone, but it looks like 4.4 should arrive in about 3 months.

On the European version of the One we get 5.5 with jb4.3 which is rolling out right now for unbranded handsets, little longer for those of us with the likes of 3.. surely there would be a way you could get it.

just became available for my handset but there was a bugfix update first, wonder if this is because of some issues people have been having with their camera & chargers

Default UK O2 - 4.3 (with Sense 5.5) update available today

I have just received the 4.3 update today (after the bug fix update), with Sense 5.5 on the UK O2 network.

Love the fact that I can finally turn Blinkfeed off and get another home screen, but hate it that you can not customise the lock screen anymore.

Also, the Do Not Disturb feature is useful, but I can't find a widget for it and Tasker can't access it so I can't automate it, e.g. when in a meeting or when the alarm clock is on. Unless I have missed something!

Sense 5.5 is actually the better update over 4.3, it's finally sorted the nagging battery problem I've had (few hours in now, still on 90%) but worth it alone for the camera and blinkfeed updates.. over the moon, feel I've got my phone back after the horrible (for me) 4.2.2 update.

Have you found that you can now select any 12 from 20 shortcuts in the 'two finger pull down menu' ?
Do not disturb is one of the options.

So far, I'm very pleased with the 4.3/5.5 update.

Yes, that was how I found the Do Not Disturb feature. I then went to see if I could automate it in Tasker. When it wasn't supported I looked for a desktop widget for it.

Just surprised that this is included, but they didn't supply a widget for it. I wonder if this is they way it is going to be in the future, where they will drop the separate widgets in favour of the pull-down menu.

In a separate point, I have now found that you can semi-customise the lockscreen, so I was wrong when I thought that it couldn't be changed.

From what I can see they have added next to no benefits... But royally screwed up what was a great gallery app. The video montages of the events folders seem to have gone.. it's change for changes sake.. not impressed..

Oh, and I've got no battery percentage going on, or the ability to have lock screen widgets. What's going on?

I am trying to update to 4.3 over my home wi-fi but for some reason it keeps getting to only a certain percentage of the update downloaded (last attempt it was about 62%, this time it's only got to 3%) and then seems to just stop. I'm on my laptop atm which also connects to the internet via our wi-fi and that seems to be behaving itself tonight, so i'm not sure what's going on. Please help!!

EDIT: I now have a new problem. After successfully downloading 4.3 for the second time, i have again got a message appear on my screen telling me that the update data that has been downloaded is corrupted, and asking me if i want to download it again. Now what?

Since you can't rule out an issue with wifi, why not do it over cellular?

Or have your carrier install the file at their shop...

Bizarrely it worked this morn...cos I remember changing the background colour.. how strange.. u can do a text via the ppl app, then u have the name in the text list...

The 3 dots are not working on the gallery app either, the workaround is to make the long press of the home key the menu key.. it's a deffo bug tho..

Urgent warning! .. none of the plus signs, (message and BlinkFeed ) work with default HTC apps.. but work with play store apps etc.. also the 3 dots are broken. This is a poor show!

I believe the bug is related to having the animations turned off in the Developer Settings, turn them back on and the 3 dot menus work again.

on a plus note, and i generally think its the only one.. the battery life seems to have improved......

The rest of the update is so minimal, as to question why there was such a hoo har about when folks were gonna get it... but having said that, ive a nexus 7, and cannot tell the diffference between 4.2 and 4.3 so should have been expecting it...

You on Sense 5 or 5.5?

There was quite a few changes with Sense 5.5.

4.3 is a lot smoother and includes fstrim so the phone shouldn't slow down after long periods of use.

I am still on Ver4.2.2 and Sense 5.0. I have two issues. The lock / unlock screen sound is almost inaudible.

The other is with the stock calendar. Any event selected as all day has the following day as the end date. It will only be noticed when one edits that event.

I would like to know from anyone of you with Ver4.3 and Sense 5.5, are these two issues still there or resolved.

Thanking you for your response.

I'm on 4.3 and Sense 5.5 but I can't help with the lock and unlock sounds. Didn't even know there was any sounds

I just created a task in the Stock calendar for all day, saved it and then went back to edit it, the day is still the same day.

I'm having major problems downloading the new android 4.3 update on my HTC one, when it showed up to update it wouldn't even start to download but just got a message telling me the download was unsuccessful & that there may be a corrupted file. I have done a factory reset & I thought it had worked but it got to the end of the download then I got the same message again, please help me it's getting really frustrating don't know what else I can do I'm not very technical so if anyone has any tips for me I would be grateful.

First off don't worry as if it hasn't downloaded then you won't lose the download.

Are you downloading over Wifi?

Make sure that you have a full battery and you're not charging the phone.

Try again from scratch and don't touch the phone until the download is complete or you get the error message again.

Can you take a picture of the error message when it appears please.

I did use Wifi to download the update with full battery I left it for a couple of hours & tried again & by some miracle it worked without doing anything different, thanks for the advice though thankfully it just took a little patience 😊

Hi Gibbs, thank you for your response. The lock / unlock screen sound can be accessed Settings>Sound.

On the calendar, during the creation it is fine but it is in the edit mode after saving that you can see that the end date is the next day.

Attached is screen shot.

Though it is not a major issue it came to light after my wife updated her HTC One X+ to Ver 4.2. These were clearly not there when her One X+ was in 4.1. So when I checked my HTC One I too noticed it. She has since informed HTC and they are worrking on it.

Cheers

OK I turnt the lock and unlock sounds on and they're there but they're pretty useless as I had to lift the phone to my ear to hear them.

Certainly wouldn't be able to hear them if I wasn't in a room on my own where it's quiet.

The screenshot of the calendar was taken after I created the event and then edited it and saved it.

Both issues look to be fixed but the first one is still poor in my opinion.

The lock/unlock sound is very low also on 4.3/5.5.

I also have low volume for whatsapp notification.
Do you have the same?
