Let me just preface this post with a total rumor disclaimer, to be read only with serious grains of salt.
That being said, information has been passed along to me in a very James Bond type way from a trusty ninja who has yet to lead me astray. The information contains detail regarding the so called “Google phone.” According to this super ninja, magenta has landed the “Google Phone,” aka codename “Passion” (which we believe to be the HTC Passion, but again thats just the codename, but it makes sense) project with an expected launch in the first two weeks of January. One important thing yet to be determined is whether or not this is exclusive to T-Mobile or if they will just “support” it??? I’m hoping for the former, I’m sure you all are too!
Some lingering questions remain, such as what will the price be? Will there be any kind of a subsidy or is that just wishful thinking? Will Google only sell this product? Will this be offered with the recently launched standard Even More/Even More Plus rate plans? What about the rumors regarding VoiP service on the Google phone? Questions are abundant and we are just in the preliminary stages of gathering info from our sources, so we’ll be updating info as we can get it. For the moment, we hope there is truth to the notion that the Google phone successfully landed in the T-Mobile network, as it would be a huge win for T-Mobile.
Let us reiterate, this is total rumor at this point but we have it on good word, so if we’re right, terrific; if we aren’t, well bah humbug.

Well on that leaked list of upcoming phones from that 2.1 ROM, there was a Passion and a PassionC - could mean a GSM passion and a CDMA passion. There was also Dragon on that list, maybe that's a GSM Passion for Europe?

The g-phone won't have senseUI. It may be built by htc but will only be a google-branded phone.
The look and functionality of the phone will be controled entirely by google, similar to the iPhone.
Having said that, there's no reason google won't have its own clever version of the senseUI experience.
Yes a couple models of the passion plus the dragon. But also if Google wants such a game changing phone they either need it on multiple networks or cast as large of a net as they can. Tmobile doesn't accomplish the second part.

But that video is extra dated though isn't it? I remember that from like a year ago and that was when I first started noticing Android. In fact that's dated Nov 07. I'm sure they've updated their prototypes since.
That's no fake Verizon logo at the end. Not to say the whole thing isn't fake, but if so and brought to Verizon's attention, the lawyers should have that taken down from youtube's site in no time.
I meant that video was made in 07. This video was posted Today. I seen that the comments were new but that phone (size and type) he's holding will not compete with any other phone on the market now. If that's the Google phone they made a terrible mistake and sales will show. I think it makes sense for them to go big.
No it would have to have been leaked and in my mind I'm waiting to hear its fake...lol. Not disagreeing with you so much as hoping the google/passion phone is going to be more than that.
