Default Bravo/Passion Camcorder -- 1080p or 720?

I know... so much speculation -- but by the looks of this spec sheet, maybe the camcorder (my drool button) seems to be a standard HD at 720 rather than the mega 1080p that I had hoped it would be...

I think you'd be hard pressed to find a phone with 1080p recording capability. 720p is cutting edge at this scale. Isn't it a couple grand for a full HD personal camcorder?

You can get a digital camera that will record video in 1080P for $600. But the Snapdragon (originnal) only does 720p.

I've seen many "speculations" that forecast 1080p, but I'd bet that's all just wishful thinking, as so many other posts regarding the Passion/Bravo.
A for the dedicated 1080p camcorders, Walmart has these for about $200, and they are surprisingly good! AIPTEK USA

I stand corrected. Guess I've been out of the loop for awhile.

Yeah, I'm assuming that the processor in the Incredible and Nexus One does support 720p, but it would all depend on weather or not the software onboard supports actual 720p capture and if the hardware (lens and sensor) support it as well. What do you think Shawn?

If I remember correctly, it said on the European HTC roadmap that the Bravo supports HD video capture at 720p. So...since that has the EXACT same processor as the Nexus and the Incredible, it would make sense that both of these phones COULD do HD video, it's just a question of it it's enabled or not. If they enable it in the Incredible, that would be badass, in my opinion. I don't know, maybe that doesn't make sense. Who know? haha

Edit: Just noticed you had already refered to the HTC roadmap. haha Dang, we think so much alike man!

There is some rumor that the HTC Bravo will not have 1GHz, but instead a 850Mhz processor. If the Bravo is slightly scaled down from the Nexus One, then I would also expect a video capture of 720p, as well as a lower resolution of 480 x 320 which is the same as the iPhone and Palm Pre.

Here's a Droid look-a-like with 720p. Google the name and some sites say it will be coming out in March 2010:
The Inbrics M1 is a thin Android handset with QWERTY keyboard (Phone Arena News)

Nobody is manufacturing a 3.7" AMOLED display at HVGA resolution. The AMOLED displays that HTC is using come from Samsung. Samsung has a 3.7" WVGA AMOLED display they use in the Omnia II and a smaller 3.2" HVGA AMOLED display used in the Behold II and others. So if you think the resolution is scaled down, then the screen would have to be smaller, too. If that's the case, we're not really talking about the Incredible being the Bravo anymore, and why again would Verizon pick up ANOTHER Android phone from HTC with a 3.2" display? That sounds more like a replacement for the Eris and that's not coming until late this year or next.

The new snapdragon (scorpion) which has two A9's in it will likely do 1080p, though we will never know until we see the proof.

Samsung has an AMOLED display on the Behold and it is 480x320. And if the rumors are true, that the HTC Bravo will be slightly scaled down in specs from the Nexus One, then it would have both a slower processor and a lower resolution screen. There is already reports of a 850Mhz processor instead of a 1GHz processor. And if it is scaled down, in terms of resolution, then at least it will still match the iPhone and Palm Pre at 480x320.

Why are you ignoring the evidence we have? The HTC roadmap lists the Bravo as having a WVGA screen. You can wikipedia that term to see it means 480x800.
[ source ]

Additionally we have a UA profile from an official htc website that contains the following field:
<prf:ScreenSize>480x800</prf:ScreenSize>
[ source ]

There are enough questions up in the air about this phone, let's not start questioning the few things we actually do know about it.

I'm not ignoring the info from the HTC product roadmap. How are you ignoring that the 1GHz that was reported on the HTC product roadmap is different from the reported 850Mhz processor that is reported elsewhere?

And you're not absorbing everything I said. I KNOW Samsung has an AMOLED display that's HVGA (480x320) on the Behold, but ..again.. it's 3.2". So ..again.. now you're talking about a phone not wholly different from the Eris, but rather say a "next gen" Eris/Hero. Why again would Verizon canabalize Eris sales with something "slightly" better spec-wise when they won't even release the Nexus One any time soon to compete with Moto Droid sales? It's okay to have your own theories, I'm just pointing out the gaping holes.

Yeah, but what is your argument? I already know that as well, meaning I KNOW that the Samsung Behold is 3.2". I never said that it wasn't. I just pointed out that it (the Behold) is 480x320, which you agreed to. I never said anything about Verizon. So, you are asking me a loaded question on multiple levels. And another thing, the Verizon doesn't even have the Nexus One, so to speculate about a device supplanting a device that Verizon doesn't even have yet is like speculating on a rumor which only exists on the basis of another rumor.

Dude, you're cherrypicking your info. The report of a phone running at 850MHz is the HTC Incredible for Verizon. You don't have to say you're talking about Verizon, the mere mention of this lone rumor implies it. And the same report said it's a large display like the Nexus One. You're sorta talking in circles about the tangent you went off on. I never mentioned the Nexus One being supplanted by anything. Just said something about your mythical phone seeming like a successor to the Eris which would not fit into Verizon's line-up right now. You still don't seem to be grasping what I'm saying.

A rumor about a device with a red back maybe called the "Incredible" having 850mhz chip doesn't contradict htc's roadmap info or the an official htc site listing the bravo as 480x800. One source is a lot less credible than the other, not to mention the droiddev rumor mentions nothing about resolution.

How am I cherrypicking info? I mentioned the 850MHz thing. If I did omit any information, it surely wasn't intentional. However, your vague comments about selectively picking info doesn't even address my original question which was that commenting on a rumor on the basis of another rumor is even more speculative that what I have posted here. So, why is it that I am selective in the information that I presented? If you truly don't think I am grasping what you are saying then why don't you clarify because it just seems like we are going around in circles? And really, I am not sure if you even understand my own viewpoint now.
